This is such a great read. If you want to embrace diversity it has to be all throughout the company. Diversity in thought, backgrounds, lifestyle, education levels, and all the demographics. When I was in corporate America I think the biggest missed opportunity in diversity was "wasting talent". I worked in a bank with a woman who had her MBA and tried for 5 years to get out of her job as a teller and move to the Corporate side. She gave up on the company she loved because no one gave her a shot. No calls back. No interviews. I could tell this story about at least 10 people. If you're hiring, promoting, or seeking consulting sometimes looking at those client facing or retail employees is what's missing. Thank you for sharing your article.
