Do the Right Thing

Do the Right Thing

36 million people became very concerned about their future yesterday when hackers released the names of people in the Ashley Madison database.

This information could potentially destroy marriages and damage reputations.

When we make a mistake or do something that is wrong morally or ethically, we should not try to cover it up. We need to confront the situation head on with the following three steps:

  1. Admit it.
  2. Take responsibility for it.
  3. Correct it.

This can be hard to do! Especially if it is a major violation. However, it is the right thing to do.

We are all imperfect people and do foolish things; however, we should always strive to do the next right thing!

It’s one thing to say "I'm sorry" when actions have been brought to light, it is completely different to apologize on one's own volition. People will probably be disappointed, but they will be impressed with how the situation is being handled and what it says about a person's character.

Of course, the best approach is to always act with integrity and do the right thing.
