Cricket Health's New Look

Cricket Health's New Look

When we founded Cricket, we knew we wanted to put the patient at the center of everything we do. Kidney care in the United States has been broken for decades, and patients are poorly served. More often that not, patients with kidney disease don't even know they have it. Even if they find out, little is done to slow the progression of the disease, and patients by default end up on in-center dialysis, when there are other treatment paths available.

We have steadily worked to develop a forward-thinking and evidence-based model of care that is, above all, patient centered.

At the same time while the current system is failing patients, it also takes a toll on providers and payers. Clinicians are incredibly stretched trying to intervene effectively with their CKD patiently, while at the same time managing a growing dialysis population. And payers spend an enormous amount of resources on the relatively small population with advanced kidney disease, while seeing very little improve for the better.

Ultimately, at Cricket, we know we have to improve kidney care across the board. And we wanted our new website to showcase how our unique model of care does just that — by identifying CKD early, giving patients options, and supporting them every step of the way. I’m excited to share these brand updates and why we made them.

First, we’ve made the site much easier for patients to use and get the information they need about how our care model makes an impact in their lives by providing the personalized care that’s right for them. We have added a “Kidney Care Patients” page that helps them get all the resources they need. For example, we have demonstrated that patient education programs can empower those with kidney disease. Our new website highlights our full slate of patient tools, community support, and personalized care that can optimize outcomes.

Second, we’ve updated the site to clearly explain how we partner with providers. We are at the beginning of a transformation in kidney care, and we know that clinicians are best positioned to lead in this shift. On our “Kidney Care Providers” page, we explain how we empower nephrologists and other providers with the data analytics, care management tools, and multidisciplinary team they need to practice to the full extent of the specialized treatment that they are trained to deliver. With targeted interventions, in-home care, virtual tools at their fingertips, the Cricket Health model of care is more fulfilling for providers.

Third, we have outlined our model for payers. Since Cricket’s founding, we’ve developed  industry-leading, proprietary predictive analytics that help identify individuals who are at risk of chronic kidney disease earlier. This means that we’re now able to intervene to manage disease progression earlier, enabling us to focus on improving quality of life and delaying ESRD as long as possible. If patients do reach ESRD, our model focuses on giving them choices, including transplant and home therapies. Our new “Payer Partners” page details how our care model and payment models work together to bring value-based care to kidney care, improving outcomes while controlling costs.

Finally, our new website explains our culture and how we work at Cricket, hopefully making it easier to join our team. Last year, we launched a second headquarters in Cambridge, MA to accommodate a growing number of enrollees. As our team grows, we’re still committed to each patient, celebrating the big and small wins in each individual’s journey. We know that a CDK diagnosis is life-changing for patients, and we strive to make each patient feel heard, valued, and respected.

At Cricket Health, we dare to do mighty things. We are not going to change a broken system overnight, but we will strive every day to take action. By bringing joy, personal commitment, and a sense of humility to our work at Cricket Health, we’re changing the kidney care status quo.

We hope our fearless new look will inspire patients to boldly take charge of their unique care journey; inspire providers to lead in boldly providing the care they were trained for; and inspire the health care industry at large to take the bold actions that are needed to reform our broken system of kidney care.

For those who’ve been with us from the beginning, to those who are ready to make a difference in kidney care: we hope you’ll boldly join us in our mission to help people with kidney disease live their best lives.

Nothing better than preventing or delaying the disease to reach the level where the only option left is dialysis or prevention from going for dialysis even when other options are available. This gap definitely needs to be filled and kudos to you and Cricket Health team towards identifying it and solving this critical problem to help improve people's quality of life.
