Working remotely can lead to isolation and the feeling of being disconnected. Employers will want to ensure that their organisational culture is inclusive, as individuals, will have been affected in diverse ways according to their job role and individual circumstances.

Remote work will require more formalised arrangement and will be consolidated by anxious short-distance commuters avoiding public transport for fear of infection, and by long-distance commuters who might decide that if they only need to visit the office three days a week, they'll buy a home even further away.

Making teams fluent in using shared digital tools to capture and create a visual representation of their thinking, and then manipulate it, will lessen the impact of physical distance as a barrier to collaboration.
