Herd of Zebras launches service statewide

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. (Apr. 6, 2018) – The Colorado sports scene is about to experience a revolutionary change. With the launch of it’s proprietary sports technology software today, Augmented Reality Sports Management Corporation began streamlining the way amateur sports leagues find, manage, and pay referees. The company plans to launch smart phone apps this summer and begin rolling out service across the U.S. later this year.

Augmented Reality Sports Management Corporation, based in the Denver suburb of Highlands Ranch, is focusing on an overlooked component of the sports industry – the leagues and referees who serve the amateur sports community.

The service Herd of Zebras provides is simple but the technology is multifaceted. Advanced smart phone algorithms manage referee certifications and qualifications in an online profile, then match qualified referees with the leagues in need of officials for their program in real time. Referees are scheduled for games and then tracked for on time, on field arrival by geolocation software. After the game, scores and major penalties are relayed directly to the league and payment is made to the referees via an ecommerce payment platform. Accounting records are sent to the leagues and referees to assist with tax filing compliance.

CEO and Founder, Rob Sigmon, explained that the vision of Augmented Reality Sports Management is, “more than just referee matching. We have leveraged technology to streamline processes and relieve our league managers of the administrative burdens involved in running their programs, so they can get back to providing the sports they love.

Our service is free for leagues to use and helps referees make more money officiating the sports they love.”

The current mobile responsive website version of the software was tested this winter with several Colorado leagues including: South Suburban Parks and Recreation, MoveDon Soccer League, Real Colorado and Denver metro area High School athletic programs and preformed with full functionality.

The current software works for leagues, tournaments and camps. Future plans include referee training programs and virtual reality software programs allowing officials to improve their skills in game management through game simulations.

The company estimates there are more than 1 billion amateur sports games worldwide each year, requiring more than 2 billion referee hours.
