Checkboxes or Relationships?

Checkboxes or Relationships?

As you get older, you inevitably look back at your life and ask yourself questions like the above. You wonder what is your life’s legacy, what people will say about you when you are no longer in the present.

As we go through our life, we check off certain items.

Graduate High School - Check.

Start a Job - Check.

Get Married - Check.

And on and on and on.

As we get up in years, we increasingly think beyond the checkboxes of life. We begin a deepening of who we REALLY are, WHY we are placed here on Earth, WHAT our life purpose and calling is.

This is both our kind and soul speaking. Our mind recognizes that we are only checking off achievements and our soul is saying that we are missing out on the relationships that we are supposed to be building.

Look at obituaries, you will notice that there is a balance of achievements and relationships being mentioned. The deceased are survived by, and a list of family relatives are in there.

So what relationships are you building? What form are they taking? How will others speak of you when you are physically gone?

It’s not too late to change the direction of your life. Start growing that side of life, and learn what you have been missing out in your life.

Until next week,
