Celebrating Black History Month at Rokt

Black History Month holds a special place in my heart, especially as the co-chair of Blak’stars. Blak’stars is Rokt's employee resource group dedicated to celebrating our Black employees. One of my favorite parts of being involved in Blak’stars is getting to play an active role in creating programming designed to commemorate Black History Month.

This month is an opportunity for all individuals to engage in various ways, such as supporting Black-owned businesses, contributing to causes, and celebrating Black creators. Here are just a few of the ways we're bringing Black History Month to life at our NYC office:

• Black Leadership in Tech panel: This month, we're hosting a powerful panel on Black leadership in the tech industry. It's a platform to amplify voices of Black leadership in the tech industry and inspire the next generation of leaders.
• Black-Owned Restaurant lunches: To connect with and support our local communities, we've incorporated catered lunches from Black-owned restaurants every week for the month of February. These allow us to contribute to meaningful connections with the NYC small business community.
• Blak’stars and Volunteer Club candy grams: We're collaborating with the Volunteer Club to sell candy grams from a Black Owned business, spreading love and using the proceeds to give back to a local organization.
• Celebrating Black musical artists over the past 100 years. We will be playing hits from some of our favorite eras all day long every Friday

For me, Black History Month isn't just a time for reflection but an opportunity to celebrate the present and envision a future where diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities are the norm. As co-chair of Blak'stars, I’m excited to be a part of fostering an environment where every Black employee at Rokt feels supported, empowered, and inspired.
