Better pay and food assistance for military families
Me meeting with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC). Rep. Mace serves on the HASC Quality of Life Panel.

Better pay and food assistance for military families

We really need to seriously support the people who sacrifice a lot to protect us.

That means better pay, and, help getting good food for those who need it.

It's not only the right thing, but it’s a big deal national security issue.

I learned some things recently from the Blue Star Families Military Family Lifestyle Survey. You should read it, too.

One in six military families feel food insecurity. Among the families of active-duty junior enlisted men and women, that number climbs to nearly 50%. Almost a third of military families say they must consider leaving the service just to earn a decent living wage.

This pisses me off. It makes our country less safe.

We all need to call our members of congress and tell them to increase the base pay for junior service members. They should also increase the basic needs allowance we provide military families struggling the most to get by.

Some of these folks also need more help with housing and childcare. Congress can do something about this.

I’ll keep trying to put my money where my mouth is. But it’s on us all to help out those who do so much for us.

A nerd’s gotta do what a nerd’s gotta do.

The "solution" has to come from the "top", in Federal Govt. Beginning with incrementally replacing the Earned Income Tax, with a National consumption Tax, where everyone pays taxes according to their ability to spend money, not earn it. This way, as soon as someone steps foot in U.S. territories anywhere, they begin paying the same taxes as everyone else. There are less than 50% of the people in the U.S. that pay any taxes at all. With a "consumption tax" we could have healthcare for all people, social security "security", education K-14 paid for everyone, and begin paying off the National debt. If anyone out there thinks that the "Ukraine/Russia", Palestine/Israel, "immigration issues" are all going away this year, you are mistaken. The U.S. needs an "OUT". What would be the U.S. response to Russia invading Alaska? With a "new tax system", the U.S. could simply ask Mexico to vote to become the 51st State. The border immediately moves to Panama where it is only 50 miles wide. Texas can spend their $10 billion on their own border wall between States". All of the Mexicans in the U.S. will go "home", The same for Ukraine and the same for Palestine, and the same for the next "war" next year.

Soldiers' Angels is currently the largest food provider exclusively to veterans in the US. We recently expanded our food programs to include active-duty families as well, because of the level of need. We have pending requests from over 50 facilities wanting us to add food programs in their markets, but we just don't have the funds to do it unfortunately. We added one new site in 2023 and pushing for DC to be our next market. Unfortunately with nonprofit donations slowing since COVID, we have had to suspend expansion of food programs for now.

Thanks so much Mr Craig but if you can help us too here we really suffering alot my brother with a humble request sir please help
