The best 5G NTN antenna design

Digitanimal won the award for antenna design with the help of Crout. The award was presented as part of the 5G-NTN Early Adopter Programme from Deutsche Telekom on 11 June 2024 in Bonn.

The antenna in the cow tracker works omnidirectionally in a multimode. Only one antenna is needed for 5G-NTN, NB-IoT, LTE-M, GNSS and Bluetooth. The space required on the circuit board is minimised and the costs for additional antennas are saved.

Digitanimal has permitted me to share some of the steps in the innovative 5G-NTN project with the IoT community. I can also offer OEM tracker versions for cows, sheep and goats. Enquiries are very welcome at harald.naumann (at) lte-modem com.

Another award winner is Datakorum. Water is often produced in remote regions without access to terrestrial radio networks. Pressure-equalising valves are required from the beginning to the end of the pipeline. The installation of the 5G-NTN antenna in the valve will be customised, as with Digitalanimal.

According to the forecast, 20% of cellular LPWAN will be 5G-NTN (NB-IoT via satellite) in the next few years. Some manufacturers are already planning 10 to 20 per cent more devices, as 5G-NTN enables coverage of previously inaccessible regions.

With our integrated antennas off the shelf or customised antennas, we reduce your BOM. We optimise the antenna performance. With the right radio module, we can often drastically reduce the BOM. Furthermore, with our SIM card, we reduce the ongoing communication costs.

Do you also want to increase your sales by 10 to 20 per cent with 5G-NTN without incurring higher distribution costs? Do you want to optimise the range or battery life of your IoT device? Do you want to reduce the costs of BOM or connectivity? If you answered yes to any of these questions, please send me an e-mail to harald.nauman (at) lte-modem. com

Best regards

Rolf Horn if Digikey likes it, they can host my two 5G NTN antenna evaluation kits. I am open to discussing a global contract.

Gavin Teale thx for like. Are you interested in taking care of the cattle in UK and France? My technology is border-free. Just take the chance. I will be happy to support you. Maybe your locating server and app can support hundreds of thousands of French and English-speaking cows as well. 😉 Drop me an email to harald.naumann(at)lte-modem.com or meet with me in Tours next days.
