Ask Your Poorest Performers

Ask Your Poorest Performers

If you want to know more about something that’s NOT going well in your organization, you may want to ask your poorest performers.

When things are not going well, top level leaders tend to ask their best performers for feedback and insights into the problem. The reality is that your best performers are not always in the best position to give you the input you need. They are doing well with whatever they have to work with, and may not be affected by the weakness you are trying to identify and resolve.

Your poorest performers (are still your poorest performers) but may be in a better position to reveal what you need to know so you can then take further action to improve the situation for all. They'll also likely appreciate the attention and support you give by asking them for feedback - and you just might turn a poor performer into a top performer in the process!
