Amazing Dog Looking For A Home After Irma!

Amazing Dog Looking For A Home After Irma!

We fostered a dog during Irma because the shelter in St. Augustine, FL needed to evacuate, unfortunately there is nowhere for them to go back to as the shelters sustained a lot of damage. If you are looking for a large dog, happy, calm, sweet, housebroken, goes outside and won't run away, comes running when you call her name, gets along fantastic with other animals and kids...then Foxy Roxy is your girl! They said she is a 4 years old (I do not think she could more than 2 years old); she is 54 lbs and she is a cuddler if you will let her (but she knows her place if you don't want to cuddle). She is not a barker at all. I can take toys/treat/food right out of her mouth and she is fine...absolutely zero aggression! My 4 year old has climbed on her, pulled her ears, stepped on her, he can feed her a hot dog right out of his hand and she is ever so gentle with him (obviously these are not behaviors we allow from our son as we would never hurt an animal, but it did happen). My dog takes things from her and eats her food and Roxy just backs away and waits patiently. She really is a great girl and just wants to be loved in a forever family! She will need a little training 1.) Jumping when greeting new people; When she meets you she will jump, however, that is not her normal behavior after the first couple minutes (she thinks she is a little dog, she is just trapped in a bigger body). 2.) Mouthing. When she wants to play or cuddle she will use her mouth to get your attention...very very very gently.

She is heartworm positive, it's not contagious to anything or anyone and she is already under treatment. The person who adopts her has a vet appointment included; the vet will provide a free heartworm check and consultation and 1 year FREE heartguard.

Roxy is the sweetest most loving dog and she is looking for her forever home! If you or someone you know may be interested in meeting Roxy please let me know!
