Access and Opportunity: Connecting Capital and Communities

Access and Opportunity: Connecting Capital and Communities

A new Morgan Stanley Podcast

I am thrilled to announce our new podcast, Access & Opportunity. I am Carla Harris, Vice Chairwoman at Morgan Stanley and I have always said that “whenever there is a market inefficiency, there is a commercial opportunity”.

This podcast will illuminate the extraordinary opportunity of investing in multicultural and women entrepreneurs, dispelling the myth of outsized risks in investing in underserved communities. Access & Opportunity will present a playbook of how to connect multicultural and women-owned businesses to the capital, content, and investor connections they need to originate, grow and scale their businesses.

In this unique podcast series, I will feature guests that have successfully invested to transform communities through the deployment of intellectual, technological and financial capital in small businesses, entrepreneurs and community and economic development. These innovative initiatives have yielded returns that have not only met or exceeded market returns, but also have had positive, sustainable social impact. These guests include entrepreneurs, investors, developers, civic and philanthropic leaders.

Access & Opportunity will particularly speak to entrepreneurial and investor communities that are looking to make the right connections to grow businesses, scale solutions, change markets and transform communities. Our first topic will explore how entrepreneurs of color can distinguish themselves in today’s competitive marketplace.

Listen, subscribe and come and join me for the ride!

The Access & Opportunity podcast series is now available for subscription on iTunes and Google Play. Visit http://www.morganstanley.com/carlapodcast to learn more.

We are committed to an inclusive, triple bottom line economy, but need help from the "Black and Brown Founders" community, to execute on the goal of co-creating a majority women, majority non-white B Corp. I sent you an invitation to connect on LinkedIn. My last 2 LinkedIn articles outline our social and business mission and vision. Norlyn
