8 Magnetic Foods to Bring People Back to the Holiday Table

As the retail media business of Kroger, the team at Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM) appreciates a good meal. Snacks, too. And we never forget desserts. Heck, food is our passion.

This is the time of year when the kitchen table is our favorite spot. When busy holiday schedules pull us away – it is food that always brings people back together.

To help you celebrate the season, the KPM marketing team is sharing some of our favorite ways to bring people to the table over the holidays.

What brings people back to our tables at the holidays?

Sam Zehnder, our #MarketingAutomation genius:

  • Braised Beef Short Ribs: “At some point we decided nobody in our family really likes turkey, so we ditched tradition and started eating well.”
  • Homemade Eggnog: “With just a few ingredients you can make your own. And when we need to take the edge off the holiday family time, we mix in a little bourbon!”

Susan Jackson, our #ContentMarketing guru:

  • Goetta: “My family goes back several generations in Cincinnati, so we always include the very German-Cincinnati combo of pork, beef, pin oats, onions, salt, and spices—fried up crispy and topped with ketchup—for our holiday breakfast feast.”
  • Hot Chocolate Bombs: “I recently discovered these amazing cocoa and marshmallow-filled treats you can drop into hot milk (or coffee!) that quickly morph into liquid holiday cheer. Ordered a bunch for the fam to enjoy together.”

Sophia DeFranco, our #EventMarketing champion:

  • Takeout Sushi. “The Feast of the Seven Fishes is a great tradition, but my family reduces the workload and amps the flavor by getting a huge sushi take-out platter. It disappears quickly!”
  • Flourless Chocolate Cake. “There’s no such thing as being too full for dessert, especially during the holidays. This cake is so good, you’re going to want the whole thing for yourself.”

And myself, the #RetailMedia cheerleader:

  • Breakfast Frittata: “I once had a surly holiday houseguest (okay, I am the surly houseguest). But there is no better penance than getting up early and making a breakfast frittata.”
  • Pumpkin Bread. “Pumpkin pie is divisive (love it/hate it), but everyone enjoys pumpkin bread. It’s easy to make and your house smells like Santa’s workshop.”

What kind of food brings your crew back to the table?
