#549 (6/10/22) Fri Wake-Up Song: Don’t be afraid to take a step before you see the whole path

It should come to you as no surprise

If you find it much too hard to believe

Just try it and I think you'll agree

Do it tomorrow

Do it again

Get on the good foot

Ease on into

One shoe at a time

Get on the good foot

Good Foot - Paul Gilbert https://lnkd.in/g9uysUMU

Born in Greensburg, PA outside of Pittsburg, Gilbert began playing guitar by age six. He credits his uncle Jimi Kidd for inspiring him to learn the guitar and cites Todd Rundgren, Cheap Trick, and the Beatles as early influencers to his songwriting style. He was playing in local clubs by age 15 and got featured in Guitar Player magazine. He contacted Ozzy Osbourne, boldly asking for the chance to play with him that same year. He moved to Los Angeles, where by age 17 he had gained notoriety for this extremely fast picking technique and ability to cover a massive repertoire of music. He would go on to be the lead guitarist for Racer X and later form the band Mr. Big, before starting his solo career in 1996. Guitar World declared him one of 50 of the world's fastest guitarists of all time, but more recently he has moved away from the speed picking and focused more on blues and deeper melodic stylings.

Dr Martin Luther King, Jr reminded us that, “Faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.” Innovators and entrepreneurs don’t know all the answers when they start. Often they have a hunch or idea, but not the full plan by any means. That doesn’t stop them from taking the first step to start exploring the new path.

Hope you enjoy this Funky Friday tune as we power through the end of the work week

I remember when he was with Mr Big he would put guitar picks on a power drill and play guitar with it. I think he gave up on that idea when he got his hair caught in it and had to be cut off!🤓
