#1 ~Research ~ #2 ~ Outreach ~ #3 ~ Active Engagement ~ Preparation says a lot about the level of experience and interest when cultivating connections
To any and all who send an invitation to connect which is accepted only to then ask ‘So what do you do?’ or ‘So how did you get your name’ or 'So where do you live?' ~ Nota Bene : When approaching strangers ~ Your best preparation is to do your research first ~ then have a list of things to explore further with the person that you are inquiring of ~ This lets them know your level of interest and experience ~ and sets the tone for the exchange and the professional connection going forward ~ An invitation to answer your own question by : 1) Reviewing the profile 2) make any notes that you like in any of the sections 3) proceed to suggest or discuss things similar in your own profile. After 8 years on LinkedIn and ~ 30 years in the world of work ~ The questions that we ask and company that we foster says as much about ourselves as the answers that we receive. Best of pursuits on this dynamic platform.
