Who are the F1 stewards? The F1 terminology glossary defines a steward as “One of the three high-ranking officials at each Grand Prix appointed to make decisions.” In short, stewards are appointed by the FIA and its affiliated associations to see that the race is conducted as per the regulations of the FIA.

The negotiations over a new Concorde Agreement will be interesting and contentious based on the remarks from the FIA and how they need more resources (ie. money) to regulate the sport. #sportslaw #motorsportlaw

Despite the fact that the FIA has given Andretti Formula the green light to join the Formula 1 grid, its entry is far from inevitable. The crucial element today is that it must reach an agreement with FOM on commercial terms before being formally allocated a slot. This demand for a commercial agreement is one of the two papers (one regulatory/governance, the other financial) that are part of the existing Concorde Agreement – the treaty that governs how F1 is managed from 2021 to 2025. Previously, teams could compete in F1 without a commercial arrangement in place – they just didn’t collect any prize money – but there is now a clear provision that no outfit gets on the grid unless it has a financial deal sorted out with FOM. This implies that Andretti’s destiny is very much in the hands of FOM, which is said to be opposed to the concept of an 11th team joining F1 right now.

As a huge Formula 1 fan, I can only admire the business model shift they made in recent years. I am keen to see how they will accelerate to the next level! Read the blog and find out why!

I can't wait to see this in action. Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and Formula 1 both know how to put on an immersive and inclusive show - this should be no different! It also highlights the need to constantly adapt and evolve! Adapting stadiums has got to be one of the operation departments' biggest challenges at any club, regardless of facility. With people now valuing experiences over possessions (case in point, my wife wanted tickets to see Pink for Christmas!) - the chance to increase the diversity of events held in any stadium, regardless of location and size must be the number one long-term objective between the Ops and Commercial departments! What other stadium adaptations do you think we'll see in the next 12-24 months?
