Just noticed that it's been 10 years since we launched the Defaqto Star Rating of Workplace Pension Schemes. This is one of our most popular and influential ratings, which is not surprising as over 12m people are saving in one. In the last decade we have helped many providers to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their propositions, service, and performance and our data has been used in the House of Commons. I'm really proud that we educated the industry on indirect discrimination (an offence under the Equality Act) and now all 5 Star Rated schemes have no age, religious, or wealth restrictions. My one regret is that the net pay problem still exists. HMRC are introducing a fix, but those earning the least will still be worse off, considerably so if they receive universal credit, which I suspect most do. With £500m going into retail workplace pensions every month and more provider consolidation on the cards, we will remain in place to keep a watchful eye over the sector while helping everyone to make smarter financial decisions! https://lnkd.in/eEgu_AM4
