CES is always interesting, and it's neat to see what technologies will be around in the months/years to come. Two that were the most interesting to me, include: - WiFi HaLows technology is used in security cameras (which is an amazing use of long-range WiFi, low power, low bandwidth (think LoRa, but slightly more power, and built within the standard WiFi architecture). This makes long-range higher bandwidth transmission (compared to LoRa) so much easier as it fits within this standard framework. - Local Neural Processing Units in laptops, allowing for training/running AI models locally. Also, the Co-Pilot key for Microsoft laptops is interesting. Amazingly, the keyboard will be changing as we know it after essentially 30 years! I do wonder what key with get the boot to take its place though, if any... (written by a human, in all its imperfections)

Great dicussion between Liz Claman of FoxBusiness.com and Cristiano R. Amon of Qualcomm. As Microsoft is top of mind today, a double click on that portion of the interview, but the whole thing is worth a watch ! "One thing that is really exciting for Qualcomm...Gen AI is actually a tailwind. We put ourselves in a mission in a partnership with Microsoft to build the next generation PCs. Think about what users want, they want more mobility, they want a device that is faster, it has more battery life and and that was the mission for Snapdragon X Elite, including us developing our own CPU which is the Orion CPU. We were on a mission to build the fastest processor for any PC. That was the role of X Elite and we delivered. We announced that last year at a Snapdragon Summit, the performance was incredible, actually exceeded our expectations because the CPU alone was faster than anything out there that have any processor for any laptop. But the good thing is, it happened at the same time that Gen AI is coming to the devices. So I think as Windows change to an AI in a co pilot experience, X Elite is the platform that is going to take that next generation Windows experience to consumers and that's a growth opportunity for Qualcomm." https://lnkd.in/gtksD92y
