Solution: Create a blockchain ticketing platform that connects buyers & sellers and executes transactions at no (or very little) cost. WHY A BLOCKCHAIN? If you represent your tickets as NFTs (unique verifiable "tokens"), you can digitally authenticate assets & payments without a trusted 3rd party. This is how transactions can be done without excessive fees. Transactions are just simple smart contracts: "If user A sends $X, user B sends *NFT ticket*. Further, this could enable... Ticket swaps (X NFT + $50 for Y NFT). Customizable royalties (X wallet gets 1% of every transaction of X NFT). Customer data for issuer (who are the biggest ticket buyers?) Avenged Sevenfold have taken some lessons from the video game industry on how to monetize music, having recently launched their 'Season Pass'. Avenged Sevenfold's 'Season Pass' is a 'direct-to-fan loyalty platform' which works in a similar way to battle passes in video games, where players are rewarded with points for engaging with the band, which can then be spent on rewards such as merchandise, controllers, physical soundtracks and even VIP meet and greet tickets. All of this works through a blockchain-based fan club and you'll need a wallet to access these benefits. This is probably one of the best uses of blockchain tech I've seen in the music industry so far and it's great to see A7X looking to games to make music better. Link to story in comments.
