Success is not achieved through luck. It's the result of small and consistent daily habits. 10 Habits that will hugely improve your quality of life: 1. Focus on the 80/20 rule 80% of results come from your top 20% of efforts. Find your 20% and double down on them. It's not just about focusing on the good. It's about avoiding the bad. You need to operate with ruthless prioritisation. 2. Start saying No more often When we say yes to everything. We are left with very limited energy for anything. It’s a one-way ticket to burnout. Learn to put yourself first. And set boundaries without burning bridges. 3. Exercise Daily Complete a form of exercise every day. Your daily exercise doesn’t have to be extreme. It can be as simple as a 20-minute walk or jog. A healthy body = A healthy mind. 4. Avoid Pointless Meetings Ditch frequent meetings, most only serve as distractions. When a meeting is essential use these rules: - Always have an agenda. - Limit them to small groups. - Leave if you’re not contributing. You will save yourself and your team many hours. 5. Show Kindness Help to lift others up whenever you can. This can be as simple as a passing compliment to somebody at work. Your kindness will be repaid back to you without hesitation. 6. Deep Work in the Morning. The average person gets distracted every 11 minutes. And it takes 23 minutes to refocus. Don’t let this be you. Schedule time for deep focus each morning. Focus on your highest-priority tasks during these high-energy periods. 7. Eat the Frog Start your day by completing the hardest task on your list. This will set the tone for a productive day ahead. And the rest of your day will become a whole lot easier. 8. Make sleep your no1 priority. Use the 3-2-1 Rule for better sleep. - No food 3 hours before sleep. - No drink 2 hours before sleep. - No screens 1 hour before sleep. Getting 7-8 hours should be a non-negotiable. 9. Test and Measure Often review your processes and methods. Analyse the results and optimise your weak points. This opens the door for constant improvement. 10. Smile Often Success is nothing without perspective and gratitude. When things are going well remember to smile. Gratitude enhances morale and encourages continued collaboration. 12 signs of a toxic leader…. Have you experienced any of these? Awesome graphic from my friend Rob Dance 🔥 A great manager is a multiplier for your skills and your confidence. A toxic one sucks out your energy and stifles your growth. Avoid becoming the subject of a toxic leader. By learning to identify these 12 signs: 1. Micromanages ↳ They control small details and show no trust in their employees. 2. Can't communicate ↳ Struggle or straight up refuse to give high-quality feedback and guidance. 3. Shifts blame ↳ Never take responsibility for their own mistakes and always blame others. 4. Plays favourites ↳ Treats particular employees with more respect than others for no reason. 5. Inconsistent ↳ Make decisions based on emotion and are often wild and unpredictable. 6. Rejects feedback ↳ They dismiss all feedback and refuse to take onboard new perspectives. 7. Lacks empathy ↳ Show no compassion or understanding and disregard the needs of others. 8. Sets unrealistic expectations ↳Push staff in an unhealthy way and do not care about work-life balance. 9. Shows hostility and aggression ↳ They act based on emotion and anger rather than logic and intelligence. 10. Fails to reward and recognise ↳ Often overlooks and fails to recognise the hard work of their employees. 11. Indecisive ↳ Make poor decisions based on a fear of failure at the expense of the team. 12. It's all about them ↳ Driven by ego and arrogance, and lacking emotional intelligence. Make it their meeting. 2. Choose a quiet place to talk. 3. Build rapport before starting off. 4. Give the recipient your full attention. 5. Ask them how you can help them achieve. 6. I’m continually amazed by the power of these skills. In every job, across all industries. Shout-out to George Stern for this amazing post. (Give him a follow.) Credentials and experience are great. But the more I talk to fellow CEOs, the clearer it becomes. THESE are what we're hiring for: Soft skills. Here are 16 essential soft skills that we all should master, With do's and don'ts to guide us: 1. Work Ethic - Do: Lean into hard work without complaint - Don't: Focus on hours; outcomes matter most. 2. Professionalism - Do: Be trusted to represent your organisation publicly - Don't: Ever assume you can cross the line in more relaxed settings 3. Growth Mindset - Do: Love feedback and learning, and incorporate both - Don't: Think you've got it all figured out 4. Reliability - Do: What you say by when you say - every time - Don't: Miss deadlines or underperform promises 5. Adaptability - Do: Change your approach when circumstances change - Don't: Stubbornly stick to your ways, especially after setbacks 6. People Reading - Do: Pay attention to reactions, body language, and mood - Don't: Fail to adjust based on explicit or implicit feedback 13. Motivation - Do: Show initiative, starting projects early and independently - Don't: Need constant hand-holding and encouragement 14. Collaboration - Do: Work well with others, sharing info, ideas, and credit - Don't: Think I could just do this faster myself 15. Grit - Do: Show resilience toward challenges and keep showing up - Don't: Back down from challenges. 16. Integrity - Do: Tell the truth and be transparent, even if the news is bad - Don't: Think you'll get away with covering up Master these, and you'll be unstoppable.
