The Future of Fintech: Boosting diversity in financial services 🤲 Last week at the Finovate Spring 2024 in San Francisco, the conversation centered on enhancing customer experience and boosting diversity in financial services. These discussions highlighted a critical aspect of our industry: the importance of social sustainability. The card industry, in particular, can play a pivotal role in promoting payments more inclusive and accessible – for all customers. Social and ethical responsibility will soon become some of the most important drivers in customer perceptions, acquisition and loyalty. By implementing inclusive practices and leveraging technology, we can ensure that financial services are accessible to all, fostering a more equitable and sustainable future. In 2022, Giesecke+Devrient launched the 'More Accessible Payments Suite (MAP)', an initiative dedicated to creating a barrier-free payment landscape. This embodies a deep social commitment by promoting co-creation, raising awareness, and encouraging collective action to achieve an inclusive payment environment for everyone. Accessibility is no longer optional; it’s a fundamental right, and banks must ensure all customers can use their payment services. The e-commerce payments landscape is rapidly evolving, and merchants must adapt to remain relevant.
