Live on Radio 5 Fast forward to minute 33 to hear my interview: https://lnkd.in/g2nijRqY An early start for me today as I was interviewed live by Sean Farrington on BBC Radio 5's 𝐖𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐔𝐩 𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 to discuss my views on last night's STV Group plc General Election debate. I tend to avoid these types of media interviews but as a regular listener to the show I was up for the challenge at 5.35am! The "debate" which STV described as a "face off" was hosted by 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐲 and featured Alex Cole-Hamilton, Anas Sarwar, 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐬 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐬 and 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐲. I have to be honest here that I wouldn't normally watch these debates but having made the commitment I was 100% in. The main pre-event press seems to have been confusion as to why the Green Party were not represented. Now remember I'm watching this TV programme as an entrepreneur who regularly sits on and chairs panels. I hold no allegiance to any political party and have never been a member of one. I have great respect for those who stand for office as it's a challenge I could never consider. But - A debate consisting of five suited and booted men looked terrible. I've personally rejected opportunities to participate in events in the UK unless there was some attempt at gender balance. - If the subject under discussion is the General Election why is the debate comprised of individuals not standing for Parliament? - Speaking over each other never works. So having lived through the 80 minutes of these guys trying to score points off each other I was then required to prep for my interview - a tough ask. Fortunately, as chair of Scottish Business Network I am very aware of the key issues our business community feel should be addressed by the government in Westminster. 1. We crave stability to allow us to execute plans for growth for our businesses. Every business leader deserves praise for simply surviving the last five years. 2. Net Zero Transition is essential but we need to engage all parts of our society in this mission, especially those with experience of major developments in the energy sector. 3. Talent is the lifeblood of any business hence Education and Visa policy requires focus. 4. Connectivity across the UK, especially from Scotland to London must be further developed. And rebuilding the UK's reputation internationally as an open, welcoming business-focused economy is essential. Hopefully, I got some of these points across however I was very disappointed that I didn't have the opportunity to share the feedback from my community on the ongoing Brexit debate which is simply summed up as 𝐒𝐜𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝, definition: annoyed, discontented and bored I would encourage all to accept these opportunities to appear in the media as we need to hear more from actual business leaders. Exactly what 𝐖𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐔𝐩 𝐓𝐨 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲, does though I reckon most of us aren't actually awake when the show goes out :) #ScotlandIsNow

#TV_Interview. Please find below my interview FRANCE 24 related to the unemployment in France. I think that there's several internal and external reasons for this issue. The solution consist in the European Economy, how can we puch it to be more competitive especially in the technology and hard industry then to rise the salary in both private and public sector.

One of my rare media political interviews, which I avoid most of the time, except when it a subject that I am comfortable and confident to discuss, French elections. This was on July 2nd with Lubna Bouza on her business show on Sky News Arabia: - The rise of the far right has its root back to the Arab spring, when several European countries wanted to "spread democracy" in certain Arab/North African countries. This has triggered a massive exodus of illegal immigrants who traveled to Europe on foot and on inflatable boats, which continued to today. It is undeniable and statistics show it, this illegal immigration into Europe is directly correlated with two things: the rise of crime in these countries and the rise of anti-immigrant acts and sentiment - Looking at the profile of a typical illegal immigrant, who abandons everything and literally risks his/her life to walk hundreds of kilometers or travels into the treacherous seas using inflatable boards, most often by paying scalpers who facilitate this illegal immigration. This illegal immigrant typically is in a situation where there is nothing to lose and is in many cases is someone who does not have an educational background or skills and in some cases has a criminal background in the country he/she is running away from. Additionally, more than 80% of these illegal immigrants are 20-40 years old - Would a doctor, who has a clinic in his home country, married with two kids, and who has a stable life, risk everything and jump on an inflatable boat to travel to Europe? Most definitely not, and this is the type of immigrants that Europe needs, since rural areas in Europe are in deep need of medical doctors. Europe also needs plumbers, electricians, technicians, etc, and these mostly have stable lives in their home countries and would not travel illegally and risk their lives - France is no exception, and the French Government has made massive mistakes over the past 2 decades in this regard. The rise of the extremes today is the price to pay for all the geopolitical mistakes made and meddling in other countries' internal politics - The far right has ruled before in Europe and in many cases it was a flop. Once exception is Italy, where the prime minister seem to be taking a stance not too far right in the way she rules, hence the success she is accomplishing Thank you Hazem Shaikh for having me again.
