What is Systemic Therapy and how does it work ❔ It stems from systems theory, which examines how parts of a system affect each other, aiming to sustain stability and address problems within the context of these relationships. Systemic therapy works by examining and addressing the interactions and dynamics within an individual's relationships and social networks. It aims to identify and change problematic patterns in these relationships, considering the individual's issues in the context of their broader social system. LOHA use a unique form of systemic therapy for families which creates C.U.R.E. Connection. Understanding. Resilience & Empathy. And it is working! "With patient navigation, [it's] that extra layer of checking in with somebody, making sure that all of their socioeconomic needs are met, and their mental health needs are addressed within a family planning visit, and any other need that may arise that may contribute to their physical health that the provider is not able to address at that visit. " In our latest video, learn how the Konza Prairie Community Health Center, a #TitleX funded service site, partners with a local agency to provide patient navigation services that address maternal health needs and help to deliver #WholePersonCare in rural Kansas: https://lnkd.in/gfHa4wEU

Holding Hope peer support groups were founded by Moms Stop the Harm (MSTH), a network of Canadian families affected by substance use-related harms and deaths. The support groups provide a safe space for caregivers to come together to share stories and resources without stigma, and to build strength and resilience. MSTH is expanding Holding Hope in the Interior and there's a need for facilitators to help get new groups off the ground in #WilliamsLake, #Kamloops, #Nelson and #Trail. If you’re at a point in your journey where you feel you have capacity to give back, visit the link below for details. #substanceuse #substanceabuse #overdoseprevention #harmreduction #momsstoptheharm #interiorhealth

Is my perspective the whole story? or do I need to #CheckMyBias?💚 📢 Let’s challenge stereotypes together! When we hear stereotypes being used in conversation, it’s crucial to speak up and check our bias. Every time we challenge stereotypes, we’re contributing to an anti-stigma movement that promotes inclusivity and understanding. Let’s foster a culture where everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of stereotypes or misconceptions. #CheckMyBias #EndStigma #InclusivityMatters 🌟 An initiative of the Psychiatric Hospital Barbados aimed at creating a more understanding Barbados, one☝🏾reflection at a time. #EndStigma #MentalHealthAwareness” #CheckMyBias #EmbraceMentalHealth #TeamPsychi

“That sense of being embedded in a community… a cocoon of loving, joyful, protection, and safety… begins to create relational health.” David W. Willis, MD, Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Social Policy. This is why OHEC’s First 1000 Days #UpstreamInitiative is designed to make local change toward a more networked and resilient community. This is key to early bonds between baby and adult (parent/caregiver) and we are only going to improve social-emotional outcomes when we improve early relational health. We've all heard of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs - but what does it have to do with Native American health? In our latest Clinical Corner article, Thomas Barrows, MD, FACEP explains the connection in two patient care stories. It turns out that Maslow was partly inspired by conversations with the Blackfoot Tribe. But ultimately their two worldviews diverged, with the Blackfoot people prioritizing community and "cultural perpetuity" over individual achievement. Providers who deliver medical care on Tribal lands can understand why, especially for patients of few resources who may slip through the cracks without careful attention. Dr. Barrows shares 2 patient stories that emphasize the importance of collaboration and connection when it comes to ensuring that every patient gets the excellent care they deserve. https://lnkd.in/eqynHGfN #indigenoushealth #patientcare #wholepersoncare #healthdisparities
