Announcing - Sthira Sukham Yoga (aka Comfortable Steady Yoga) Family, Friends and LinkedIn Connections. I have not posted on this topic in several months and realized it was way past time to update everyone on the progress of the Yoga studio. We officially opened Sthira Sukham Yoga in our new physical location on October 7th! Over the past several months I have witnessed the transformation of an empty office space into a beautiful, peaceful and calming studio and now I am witnessing a growing and connected yoga community both in the studio and online. I have been studying and practicing yoga for the past 8 years and have come to love all aspects of the practice. I started my journey within the martial arts community, making my way to Tai Chi/Qigong and eventually discovering Hatha yoga. It has been an interesting journey to say the least. Going from the very physical to the deep subtle metaphysical is a journey I believe benefits everyone and anyone. That is one of the main drivers for me as an IT guy to join in with Kate and start this studio. I am not a yoga teacher but believe so much in this practice that I was compelled to share it with everyone around me. There are multiple types and styles of Yoga, and Yoga Studios and most all of these styles offer a practitioner the opportunity to make the journey but I have come to prefer a more Traditional Hatha based practice. Kate and I believe that yoga is for every body and everyone. Frequently many studios cater to a more Vinyasa based approach which can be an awesome practice but is not accessible to every person's physical or mental/emotional needs. These two factors, among many others, drove Kate and I to structure and design our studio, the classes and the teachers who teach those classes. Want to learn more about our studio or yoga? Visit our website and explore the space, classes we offer and our teachers Bio’s. https://lnkd.in/g7hhh7K5 The “new to yoga” page can be helpful if you want to know what it takes to get started with a yoga practice. (https://lnkd.in/gxQX3-qq) If you already have a practice let me know in the comments!. What style do you prefer and why? If you are curious or interested in exploring a yoga practice what are the three things that hold you back? #yoga #hathayoga #newbusiness #healthandwellness

Starting the original version of Yoga. Bringing the old version to Kiel. Literally, Hatha means 'force' and is more traditionally defined as 'the yoga of force', or 'the means of attaining a state of yoga through force'. So Hatha yoga can be considered as anything you might do with the body, including: asana – yoga postures. Regular practice of Hatha Yoga enhances strength, flexibility, and balance and may offer some light to moderate aerobic conditioning as well, depending on the style practiced. Other benefits may be gained from incorporating breath work (pranayama) and meditation as part of, or in addition to, a Hatha Yoga practice
