🌍✨ During the third week of National Safety Month, we're proud to spotlight our ongoing efforts to reduce workplace risks and enhance safety. Here are three key initiatives we're championing: 1️⃣ Machine Improvement Initiative: Our Yale and I&I teams are leveraging state-of-the-art technologies to minimize the risk of injuries associated with our production machines. We've enhanced safety with upgraded light curtains hard guarding on our braiders, alongside measures to reduce noise levels. These advancements ensure a safer environment for our workforce while maintaining productivity. 2️⃣ Musculoskeletal Disorder (MSD) Prevention: Across multiple sites, we've invested in lift assist devices and height-adjustable carts to improve ergonomics during material handling. Moreover, in Saco, Salisbury, and Lorton, we're implementing preventative mobility and worker resiliency programs. These programs recognize our employees as industrial athletes, providing them with the support and resources they need to thrive in physically demanding roles. 3️⃣ Psychosocial Risk Reduction: Recognizing the importance of mental health in workplace safety, we've taken proactive steps. Our supervisors have completed Mental Health First Aid certification, and we've partnered with our insurance company to offer mental health resources. Collaborations with local police, fire, and social services departments ensure our employees know how to access these critical resources. Additionally, we've bolstered our HR Department and focused on leadership development to address psychosocial risk factors effectively. Safety is ingrained in everything we do. While we celebrate our achievements during National Safety Month, we remain committed to continuous improvement. Together, we're creating a workplace where safety and well-being thrive. 💪🌟 #NationalSafetyMonth #WorkplaceSafety #RiskReduction

In light of Safety and Health Week (back in May, I know, I'm late in my readings...), I find important to highlight that workplace safety goes beyond just the physical aspects. Psychological safety is equally vital for the well-being and success of any organization. It's about creating an environment where team-members can make mistakes, express themselves, and speak up without fear of judgment or exclusion. Research, such as Google's Project Aristotle, shows that psychological safety is the key to effective teams. Turns out, it's associated with increased engagement, innovation, job performance, and job satisfaction. No kidding ! You want more? Fostering psychological safety is essential in today's challenging job market, as it influences retention and talent attraction. To achieve psychological safety, organisation can use the "Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Matrix", a tool that enhances psychological flexibility. It helps recognizing internal thoughts and emotions, making choices aligned with values, and discussing difficult topics in terms of a shared purpose. Building psychological safety is a journey that involves learning and collaboration. By employing strategies rooted in the ACT Matrix, or similar conversation-inducing tools, both employees and employers can take meaningful steps toward creating a psychologically safe workplace. It's a win-win for everyone involved. And we all like a win. #PsychologicalSafety #WorkplaceWellbeing #SafetyAndHealthWeek

At Burckhardt Compression, we place paramount importance on health, safety, and well-being. Our Health & Safety Awareness Program has been instrumental in raising awareness about workplace safety. Through a combination of brochures, videos, and on-site installations, we have drawn attention to the most common sources of risks. To proactively prevent accidents, our employees, which work in the workshop consistently wear safety shoes and protective goggles. Safety is our top priority! In our approach, we emphasize two focus areas: - Occupational Health and Safety System: We prioritize the implementation of robust health and safety systems to safeguard physical well-being. This includes preventive measures and a strong safety culture. - Mental Well-Being: Equally important is promoting mental health and well-being. We recognize the significance of mental wellness in maintaining a holistic and thriving workforce. Burckhardt Compression considers it vital that employees can safely reunite with their families in good health. #BurckhardtCompression #safety #health #wellbeing #mentalhealth #employees

😲 Each year, more than 5,000 workers are killed on the job. Additionally, more than 3.6 million employees are seriously injured each year while at work. 😞 Because of this and to promote the importance of companies incorporating safety and health programs into their workplace, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) holds a nationwide event each August called Safe and Sound Week. This year, the event runs August 7-13, 2023, and aims to raise awareness and understanding of the value of safety and health programs. To get involved, employers can visit the Safe and Sound website at: https://lnkd.in/eT8shkT. ⬇ Download our Health and Safety Implementation Checklist, designed for general industry employers, providing you with best practices for implementing Workplace Health and Safety programs - link in comment section. #OSHA #SafeandSoundWeek #WorkplaceSafety #HealthandSafety #Business

4wOutstanding, Yale Cordage! All organizations talked about psychological safety. Few invest in Mental Health First Aid and related leadership development, underestimated prerequisites to employee engagement.
