June also brings us the start of summer.  Summers continue to become warmer and warmer here in Oregon. Oregon OSHA requires employers to provide an annual awareness training for Heat Illness prevention. Combining Safety, summer fun and the hot weather along with Oregon OSHA requirements and finally June as the month of safety Yorke & Curtis took the opportunity to incorporate these pieces into a month long Safety Challenge. Each week for the month of June, our safety manager distributes a set of questions quizzing employees on matters of safety. In these questions, are questions relating to heat illness prevention awareness. The questions target information distributed on the subject to employees which reinforce information the employees learned from the information for awareness training distributed separately. Some of the questions can be tricky and require review of the Oregon OSHA 437-002-0156 as well the company Heat Illness Prevention Program. It has been so exciting seeing employees competing against one another in the name of safety.
