There are believed to be between 60 million and 110 million unexploded land mines around the world today. These land mines are scattered across more than 60 countries with significant numbers in places heavily impacted by past conflicts, including countries in Africa, Asia, and Europe. The presence of these mines continues to pose a significant risk to the safety, health, and economic development of affected areas. Efforts to clear mines and assist affected communities are ongoing, but the process is slow, expensive, and dangerous. Some, like those fighting in Ukraine today, continue to make this number grow exponentially. Others, like Ryan Hendrickson and the team at Tip of The Spear Landmine Removal Inc., continue to risk life and limb to remove as many of these threats as is possible.
