🌳🎈 I'm celebrating day 5 of our 21-day journey with a big shoutout to two team members ranked #1 for the Accenture Healthy Movement Challenge Community Leaderboard. Kudos to other team members who got an early start to exceed their day 5 goals! Our team now ranks in the top 3 among 32, climbing two positions. Exciting news on Fri-YAY! We've surpassed our 130 plant goal by 113%, planting Thrive Global 148 plants in just a week. I'm also exceeding my healthy movement challenge goals. Fantastic work, everyone! It marks Juneteenth as a Federal holiday, celebrating the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Texas were freed, a pivotal moment in American history. The proclamation underscores the significance of Juneteenth as both a reflection on America’s past and a beacon for the future, emphasizing the nation’s foundational belief in equality for all.   The White House expresses pride in signing Juneteenth into law as a federal holiday, the first since Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This act acknowledges the truth of the nation’s history and honors the generations of Black leaders and activists who have fought for equality. The proclamation also highlights the contributions of individuals like Ms. Opal Lee, known as the grandmother of Juneteenth, and former State Representative Al Edwards, who played a crucial role in recognizing the day as a holiday in Texas.   The administration’s efforts to deliver on the promise of America are detailed, with investments in Black communities, support for Black business ownership, and educational opportunities.
