I help professional musicians tell their stories. Social media, eBooks, interviews, editing, co-writing
Cris Cohen: One thing you said about this album, you were talking about bringing 80s hard rock into 2022. From your perspective, what elements of 80s hard rock are maybe harder to find in 2022? Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big, David Lee Roth, Talas): Well, a lot of it, of what we've just been speaking of – that chaos, that spontaneity, that little bit of pressure to get it done because we don't know what's going to happen the next day. So, things of that nature I think are important factors in the music of then. And now, there is a little bit of relaxation, possibly, not with everyone. Generalities are never true and there's a generality that's always true. Because you can sit down and get an engineer and piece through things and kind of play a part at a time and go back and check it and change it and fix it if you need to and continue on. It's quite a different thing. We were slaves to the tape back in the day, just before digital recordings. First digital recording I think I did was the first Mr. Big record. But you had to get it on tape, and it had to be right, especially the drum track. That had to be righteous, because you couldn't edit the drums. You could, but it was always precarious to edit the drums on too much tape.

Think.Learn.Do. | Thoughtful data-driven strategy, solutions, and governance in a reactionary world | Getting from Zero to One and beyond | Global Data Leader | Data Practitioner
If you want to know how your data catalog could work, as a related example look no further than Discogs. I've reposted lots from this place. As a lover of data and music (vinyl LIVES!!!) , I've extolled the virtues of this community driven (data steward) music catalog (aka, data and metadata catalog). Tons of entries, revisions, consolidations. Tons of metadata, pics, notes, voting, notifications, etc.... etc. If you want to see how your corporate data catalog could evolve, just check it out. A living, breathing continuously improved catalog, where people focus on the assets they determine have value. Which means EXPERTS manage the data they know. Not some central Data/Analytics group who think they're experts but don't even know what the data is for or how it's used. Then, all of sudden you can get insights like this about the things your community and constituents care about. I mean, come on, who would guess a lesser known jazz artist from a 1977 release would be no. 6 after the big heavy hitters?!?! DATA IS VALUE! #MusicMondays #MusicMonday #ContinuousImprovement #ThePathIsTheGoal #ThinkLearnDo #ideaOutput #Curiosity #Data #DataGovernance #DataMastery #DataIsTheNewSoil #DataCatalog #DataLineage #BusinessGlossary #DataMeaning #DataContext #Metadata #MetadataContext #DataQuality #DQ #Simplify

One of my favorite Kozmic Debris albums, CRITICAL MASS Vol 1! CRITICAL MASS Volume 1 is about serious themes and moods. The music can be tense, dynamic, and mysterious. Most tracks build to a big climax, but within each title, the alternate mixes (stems) allow you to dial in the exact mood and weight for the scene. The tone ranges from semi-dark to hopeful. https://lnkd.in/eFmAQZTv

New Post: Looking Ahead: A Release Calendar of Upcoming Albums in 2024 - https://lnkd.in/gACGgDqW - 2023 may have featured massive releases from artists such as Taylor Swift (Taylor’s Versions of Speak Now and 1989), Drake (For All the Dogs and its Scary Hours edition), Bad Bunny (Nadie Sabe Lo Que Va a Pasar Mañana), Nicki Minaj (Pink Friday 2), Morgan Wallen (One Thing at a Time) and many others, but 2024 is shaping up to be a strong year as well. Albums scheduled for release include Jennifer Lopez’s long-awaited ninth studio album This Is Me…Now, the follow-up to her 2002 release This Is Me…Then. Also planned? New albums from Kali Uchis, Usher, Lenny Kravitz and many more. Among them as well is the Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign collab Vultures, which has moved its release date from 2023 into the new year. Though projects are announced, they’re sometimes delayed for various reasons, or even announced just days in advance, so keeping track of when artists’ albums are coming can be difficult. To make it easier for fans, we’ve compiled this release calendar so the biggest and most anticipated releases won’t be missed when release dates come and go. The list is organized chronologically by month and week, and includes genres from pop, hip-hop, rock, K-pop, Latin, country and beyond. Keep reading for our running calendar of the major album releases coming in 2024. - Download: Stupid Simple CMS - https://lnkd.in/g4y9XFgR

Yes, we all know what season is right around the corner. And we know that this is a time when we produce for what is right around the corner. It’s also the time when we choose music and songs for the stuff we produce for what’s right around the corner. So, with that in mind, check out two-holiday albums from Kozmic Debris. One album, “Holiday Spirit”, features music of the season in a variety of instrumentals with stems and alternate mixes. The other, “Holiday Voices”, spotlights original songs that sound like instant classics, with moods that range from cheery and festive, to somber and sentimental. And the remakes are all public domain, so there is no issue with licensing. https://lnkd.in/eUy9pwqY https://lnkd.in/dHQ3yBjm
