I've been seeing a lot of crimp rollers on social media recently. I love this piece of equipment, and feel it's the key to a new paradigm for vineyard floor management in New Zealand and worldwide. Our newest blog post outlines our ideas about using crimpers to manage cover crops in the midrows of vineyards. It's the second part of our sustainable groundcover management programme we've just put in for industry funding. I feel it's not too lofty a goal to aim not just for carbon neutrality from our vineyards, but for carbon negativity. Different people look at milking cows in different ways: For people with a technical background milking is a technical process to harvest / extract the milk from the cow. We can all agree that it is much more than the technical process alone. A: We are milking living animals, and we have to take into consideration that there are differences in yield, in milking frequencies between animals and between farms B: The animals are handled and prepared by people, and we have to take into consideration that there are differences between milking routines, and differences in the availability of people to milk the cows.
