26+ years ago a young tech began his career as Maintenance Engineer at WSLS. In time, Ricky Williams became our Director of Technology and so much more. His passion, commitment, leadership and friendship became the heartbeat of the station. Now we celebrate Ricky and wish him his best in retirement.
Look at you rockin the OG “NewsChannel 10” polo! Still remember this pic hanging in the lobby! All the best! REM 3, 19, 34, 15 and 36 won’t be the same without you! (They probably don’t exist anymore but you get my drift)
I’ve gotten to know you in past couple months during my summer work there and feel like have known you forever. Will miss the music and chats! Best wishes my friend. Will see you
Good luck on the next chapter
Congrats and good luck Ricky. Again another great engineer from Graham headed to retirement. A true gentlemen in the industry and life. You will be missed greatly! Cheers!

Happy retirement to one of the best! Enjoy your next chapter!
Always good to retire young, I just heard today at the SBE picnic that you retired. We missed you at that picnic Ricky! Have fun.
Congrats, Ricky. Always enjoyed working with you. Enjoy your well deserved retirement!
Congratulations! Enjoy retirement.
Senior Leader, Customer Experience (CCXP) & Training
2wOne the best, most dedicated, innovative, people caring leader I’ve ever worked with. Not to mention the load he carried for wsls from SD to HD, streaming, and all of the challenges throughout. We’ll done sir! The Roanoke valley and wsls team are better because of your leadership and commitment to being the news and programming for almost 3 decades! #thebest
