Faced with the challenge of climate change, Africa is creating awareness of what climate change is all about. Africa is actively educating and enlightening her people on the need to adopt climate smart agriculture policies. Climate change is influencing agriculture in Africa. The climate-smart agriculture approach is a model for adapting agriculture to the changing climate and mitigation. In Ethiopia, climate-smart agriculture involves integrated soil fertility management, conservation agriculture, efficient irrigation and watershed practices.

Globally, we use approx. 70% of freshwater withdrawals for agriculture. Without #Water there is no #agriculture or life on earth. #Water brings life, peace, unity, and takes centre stage of all human activity. #Water can be a tool for #peace and a catalyst for progress. We are also introducing innovations in agriculture in Iraq, which has been struggling with a devastating drought for a long time. Yet agriculture is a source of livelihood for a large part of the population. The unstable situation in the country makes conditions even worse. We are providing Iraqi farmers with training in modern farming methods that will enable them to make better use of natural conditions and secure their livelihoods despite the changing climate. Two summers of extreme heat and droughts in certain regions of France is leading to a full-blown water crisis. In March, President Macron presented a national water strategy, with the goal to reduce consumption by 10% by 2030. Agriculture accounts for roughly 45% of water usage, and the sector is struggling with securing crop yields while dealing with water scarcity. By adopting these practices, farmers can improve soil health, increase water retention, and reduce erosion. Technologies like precision irrigation and weather insurance can help farmers adapt to climate uncertainty.
