It’s #WorldRainforestDay 🌳 Rainforests are not only essential for nature and climate, but they also provide essential resources for indigenous communities across the globe. They also provide a home for more than 50% of the world's plants and animals found on land, store carbon and stabilize climate. Stand with us in protecting these ecosystems and their Indigenous guardians. 🌍🌿 #Rainforest #IndigenousPeoples #RainforestDay #ForRainforests #nature #sustainability

Coastal forests which are sometimes forgotten in the fight against climate change, contain an unexpected key to protecting our planet. These ecosystems serve an important role in carbon sequestration, absorbing and storing large amounts of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere. Also not only protect coastal communities from storms and erosion, but they also provide vital habitat for lots of species. We are able to mitigate climate change, protect biodiversity, and maintain the health of the planet for future generations by preserving and restoring coastal forests #MarineConservation #CoastalForests

Around the globe, forests act as guardians of the Earth’s biodiversity, protecting land and water resources, stabilizing the global climate, and sustaining the livelihoods of 1.6 billion people, including around 70 million Indigenous people. But the planet continues to lose the equivalent of almost 10 soccer fields of forest per minute. #ForestsNews takes you on a journey across the world’s three largest rainforests to explore what they mean for people and the planet; their state; and how they can be sustainably managed for present and future generations. Our planet's diverse ecosystems are crucial for sustaining life, from the lush forests and vibrant oceans to the serene wetlands, rivers, and lakes. 🌿 These natural habitats provide vital resources, support countless species, and regulate our climate. Yet, they face unprecedented threats from deforestation, pollution, climate change, and overexploitation. Conserving these ecosystems is essential not only for their beauty and biodiversity but also for the future of humanity. 🌎 In honor of #WorldEnvironmentDay and for our future, let’s commit to protecting and restoring our natural world together. ❤️ #earthx #earthfocus #ecosystemrestoration #conservationmatters

🌳 Happy International Day of Forests! 🌲 #Forest habitats are paramount to life on Earth as they purify the air, filter the water, prevent erosion, and act as carbon sinks, mitigating the impacts of #ClimateChange. Did you know that: 🌱 Forests are home to 80% of the world’s terrestrial #biodiversity 🌱 30% of the climate solutions needed to meet the goals of the #ParisAgreement can be provided by protecting and restoring forests 🌱 Every year, #forests absorb a staggering 2.4 billion metric tons of CO2 from our atmosphere. At Habitats, we protect the land and the ocean so they can protect us 🌊⛰️ Join us in this journey to protect and restore our planet's ecosystems. #InternationalDayofForests #IntlForestDay #ForestDay United Nations

#UNEA6 | Accelerating the efforts to conserve and restore wetlands is crucial as the triple planetary crisis of climate change, nature and biodiversity loss and pollution and waste is amplifying the effects of wetland degradation. Vegetated wetlands, such as swamps and marshes, are some of the most wildlife-rich ecosystems on the planet, their shallow waters and abundant plant life supporting everything from insects to ducks to moose. But these wetlands, as well as lakes, rivers and other watery environments around the world, are in peril, with many polluted or degraded as a result of climate change and human development. #WetlandConservation #WetlandsMatter

World Environment Day!!! Together, we honour our wonderful environment today and take steps to keep it safe. The theme for this year is " land restoration, desertification and drought resilience" highlighting the critical need to restore our ecosystems in order to guarantee a sustainable future for everybody. We depend on ecosystems for basic necessities like food, clean water, clean air, and climate control. These ecosystems have, regrettably, suffered greatly from human activity. We can fight climate change, stop the loss of biodiversity, and improve human well-being by restoring them. We are not the property of the Earth; the Earth belongs to us. — Marlee Matlin Cheers to World Environment Day! #worldevironmentday #plant #ecosystem
