The Boke-Quebo road project, representing a substantial investment of US$126.8 million, aims to significantly enhance connectivity between Guinea and Guinea-Bissau, contributing to the broader Dakar-Lagos road corridor. This endeavor not only promises to streamline transportation and trade between the two nations but also to foster regional integration throughout West Africa. Focused on constructing and asphalting over 107 km of road, along with the construction and repair of multiple bridges, the project underscores a comprehensive approach to infrastructure development.
Incorporating the expertise of both local and international firms, including Mali’s Cira SAS and Guinea's West Ingenierie for supervision, and entrusting construction to China Railway Seventh Group and a consortium of Mauritanian companies, underscores a collaborative model aimed at advancing this pivotal infrastructure project. With Phase 1 receiving support from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the European Union, and the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) funding a segment of the project, the Boke-Quebo road stands as a transformative initiative for the region, with completion targeted by December 2026.
