World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI)’s Post

Check out what we got up to at EUROBIKE Show last week where Michelle Smyth and Emma P. (Mason) Zwiebler were busy uniting the cycling industry and building the collaborative environment we thrive in.

⁉️The easy question to ask when you look at this photo is, where are all the women? 💪Yes, the cycling industry has a long way to go on gender parity but these are some of the guys (and now one lady 🙌) that have supported me since day 1 in this role and now Emma P. (Mason) Zwiebler as she leads our organisation 👩🏼💼Coming into the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI) as Head of Cycling in 2022, I was the first woman to take on this role in our 40+ year history. I was a lawyer with a passion for cycling, but tech and engineering were not my thing. 🇩🇪Fast forward to my third EUROBIKE Show last week and I’m proud to be capturing this WGSGI Cycling Committee moment and saying thank you to all our members who not only turned up to the 6.5hr meeting but our regular online calls and discussions. 🌈Most people who work in professional cycling know the CPA represents the riders and the AIGCP represents the teams but the WFSGI is the representative to the brands. We are the global voice of the cycling industry…150 competitor brands in fact! ⚙️Our meetings go deep on topics from EPAC drive systems, wheel tech, handlebar dimensions and helmets – these guys not only show up but they support and empower me with their knowledge to best represent the cycling industry on some really crucial topics over the past few years towards the Union Cycliste Internationale, World Triathlon and the International Olympic Committee – IOC. Not sure if you can tell, but I love my job. It’s the people that make it and these are some of the best! Thanks team 🌟 #cycling #sportinggoods #womenincycling #innovation #marketing #technology
