Many organisations today are asking their employees to get back to the office - and often the reason cited is the inability to innovate. Ecosystm Principal VP Research Tim Sheedy shares his thoughts on why organisations that say that remote work is hampering innovation are wrong. "Organisations today face a challenge – and it is not the inability to innovate in a hybrid work environment! It is in their ability to deliver the employee experience that their employees want. This is more challenging now because there are more preferences, options, and technologies available." #ReturntoOffice #RemoteWork #HybridWork #DigitalWorkplace #WorkplaceInnovation https://lnkd.in/gVRTTrgX

I sat down with Fortune to discuss our latest report, Making Flexible Working Models Work, which explores employees’ thoughts around return-to-office policies. https://lnkd.in/eBUENSX2 While it is encouraging to see both employees and managers agree that there should be a mix of in-person and remote, there is a clear blindsight in how leaders are developing these new hybrid work models. And it all comes down to agency and trust – employees want and need to be involved in developing these new models alongside management. Making hybrid work truly work is something we must do together. #HybridWork #FlexWork

Does the #hybridworkplace offer true flexibility? On the surface, these hybrid structures are marketed as dynamic and adaptable, a seemingly perfect compromise that provides employees with the autonomy they've grown accustomed to during the pandemic. However, the true nature of these models - with their strict in-office days and hours set by management - may not offer the level of flexibility they claim to provide. The article raises pertinent questions about the evolving dynamics of the workplace and the need for truly flexible work arrangements. As organisations continue to navigate this new world of work, it's essential to understand the diverse needs of their workforce, rather than focus on rigid patterns that could potentially hinder productivity and inclusivity. https://lnkd.in/eKRBXHmD

Good article revealing areas of improvement for hybrid workers, including manager training for those leading a distributed team and realizing the interruptions increase when in the office, but not necessarily productivity. it certainly is my preference to go into the office, but it's certainly not for everyone!
