Helping HR Leaders in the food industry to create better boundaries so they can feel less frazzled and have more control over their careers | coach | HR | career coach
This is an interesting article about the role of HR, a topic that often seems to come up! HR's broad remit can result in us being seen as a "Jack of all trades", doing lots of things but lacking depth. This article argues that HR should be focusing on increasing the low productivity rates in many UK companies. Management skills are so crucial and HR are so well placed to help improve this and yet so many people suffer at the hands of poor managers and productivity is the first casualty. There is a great link in the article to some of the initiatives that could positively impact this. We will be talking about the role of HR as part of our webinar of Increasing HR Visibility next Wednesday. Link in the comments if you want to join us. https://lnkd.in/gWxd_PRH

Key Takeaways from this article: ❌ 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠. My POV: When it comes to leadership training McKinsey has found that 70% of leadership development programs FAIL to change leaders behaviours. There are 4 fatal flaws to leadership development programs and most HR continue to fall pray to these flaws. We expose these flaws in our next webinar so visit my website for details. ❌𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐥-𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐰, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠. My POV: The biggest determinant of the level of employee engagement is how managers treat their staff (aka leadership). Too many organisations are not apportioning their budgets and activities based on data. A simple ChatGPT search will tell you what are the top factors that impact employee engagement and the weighting %. #HR #leadership #leaders #employeeengagement

Human Resources Executive | Strategic Business and Thought Partner for Business Leaders | Leader, Coach and Facilitator of High Performance Environments for HR Professionals and HR Teams
An interesting read highlighting the risk for HR Professionals in getting swept up in the latest people related fads vs concentrating on work that adds the most value to the organisation. Often it’s investing in getting the fundementals right that adds the most value rather than the glamorous stuff.

Financial wellbeing will become a part of more and more organisations strategy over time, I still think we focus too much on the symptoms with drives like pay-on-demand, and the focus will eventually switch to education and access to tools to prevent rather than cure problems. Here HR magazine have covered a lot of the current dynamics around the initiative. I'm interested in your thoughts? Do we truly understand the challenges and are current solutions solving the root cause? What are you seeing? #payroll #hr #financialwellbeing #financialwellness
