IMAX cameras, especially the ones using film, are still seen as the best for picture quality. Despite all the advanced digital tech and super high resolution available, IMAX cameras are still ahead. While there are several methods to film for big screens, such as using top-tier cameras like RED Monstro, ALEXA LF, 65, and Panavision, the truest way to IMAX cinema is still through IMAX cameras. However, information and resources on IMAX cameras and their filming techniques are scarce because they are rare and need specific training. #CleverstreetFilms #IMAXExcellence #FilmTech #CinematicQuality #IMAXFilmMagic #BigScreenExperience #AdvancedCinema #FilmIndustryInsights #RareTech #IMAXTraining #VisualStorytelling

So, the PYXIS is equipped with a full-frame 6K sensor very similar to the newly announced pocket pro. You have the option of using other lens mounts like EF, PL, or L-Mount, allowing you to use your preferred glass with ease. Not to mention the fact that it can record in Blackmagic RAW and H.264 proxies simultaneously. Blackmagic is claiming that it can deliver detailed photos in every lighting scenario that rival the most expensive digital cinema cameras on the market, whether filming in broad daylight or dark conditions,…emphasis on every! We’ll see. Some of my filmmaking colleagues have expressed concerns about its design, specifically the positioning of the screen and its limited dynamic range. And you know what? They have some valid arguments. Is this a one-man run-and-gun camera or do you need a 1st AC to optimally use it? For me, I’m 1000% convinced it’s the latter. This is to say that, while there may be some legitimate issues regarding the design and functionality, it is critical to analyze the context and intended use. For many filmmakers, including myself, this camera offers something exciting for the price and, with so many tools at our disposal, there's never been a better moment to be creative and generate some cinematic magic. It goes without saying that a cinema screen & projection surface is one of the most essential elements of any custom installation. Here's what we consider when specifying the perfect cinema screen for each project... 👇 📺 The ideal aspect ratio. Are you watching more regular TV shot in 16:9 or dedicated movies which can be 2.40:1? 🔉 Where will the speakers be? Are you able to place your speakers behind the screen like a real theatre? In which case, you’ll need an acoustically transparent screen material. ☀️ How bright is the room? Is your projector bright enough and do you need a higher gain screen surface to help with ambient light conditions? 🍿 How close will you be to the screen? Consider your seating position when choosing the screen size so it’s comfortable to watch. 🎞️ Fixed or masking? For the ultimate experience, you can mask off some of the viewable area to frame various aspect ratio images. Review: RED Raven 4.5K When it comes to cinema cameras, there are only a handful of options to choose from, but the industry titans Arri & RED are the real contenders in the space. The RED Raven, though a fairly dated piece of kit in 2024, can be picked up for a very reasonable price and the footage this camera is capable of would match any modern day cinema package in fair lighting. This camera can still push high frame rates in very reasonable bitrates, producing stunning footage no matter where you point it. You can have more fun with this camera in the edit suite, when you get into the RED RAW settings, you'll be amazing the amount of data and detail this 8 year old camera can produce.
