Financial planning is a great professional calling, and the industry is getting better at opening more pathways. Here's a look at the ramping up of a "talent exchange initiative" at Commonwealth Financial Network, with insights from David I. and David Stevens, CFP® of Stevens Capital Partners. The bottom line is that more than a third of financial advisors are retiring in the next decade. If firms in the industry would like to retain the collective $10 trillion in assets managed by those advisors in the future, they're going to need to hire more young people and career changers and open more doors for women, Black and Hispanic Americans and members of other minority groups who are dramatically underrepresented in the industry. #careergoals #careerdevelopment #careeradvice #financialplanning #financialadvisors #wealthmanagement #wealthbuilding https://lnkd.in/ezYKgwEs

3 things no one tells you you'll get if you do the Startmate women fellowship. (If you do the fellowship and don't get these things I will give you my SM bucket hat) (most precious thing I own) (see T&Cs at bottom of post) 1. 🙅♀️ Really good at saying no to people trying to headhunt you. The SM stamp of approval is very real. I'm coining it the Women Fellow Effect. The amount of messages I get each week saying 'hey your women fellows look pretty elite can we hire some' !!! 2. 💁♀️ The confidence to finally quit your current job, which you've known you need to do for about 18 months now, you silly muppet 3. 🙆♀️ A new lease on life when you land a job you love in a startup. Don't take it from me - look at the smiles on the faces of my mates (/colleagues) who also got a job through the WF!! If those smiles don't scream 'WE HAVE A NEW LEASE ON LIFE BABYYYY' then I don't know what does. Go on: https://lnkd.in/gmAetm-p - apps close Monday. *bucket hat must be returned after 1 year, in reasonable condition if that's not too much to ask 🎩

Global Communications & Public Affairs Manager at Generation | Global Shaper at WEF | AI & Future of Work Speaker | Career Coach
Generation believes in the power of employment to change lives, and nowhere is that more evident than in the lived experiences and stories of our alumni 👇 In our 2023 Global Alumni Survey (https://lnkd.in/dZq7gtj2), we surveyed alumni who graduated from Generation programs between 2 to 5 years ago, receiving responses from more than 3,100 alumni across 14 countries. We do this every year in order to track the durability of outcomes for our graduates. This year’s survey shows positive outcomes in employment, financial health, well-being, and community engagement for our alumni – and those results are true across professions, genders, and socio-economic backgrounds. There are also strong indicators of improved economic mobility for our alumni, our goal. If you'd like to get an overview of the survey's findings and don't have time to read the entire report, have a look at our blog 👉 https://lnkd.in/dYEsyCgd.

Career Clara-ty 🌕 for Mid-Career Academics Designing Meaningful Lives>Work| Research/Impact Trainer | Great Academic Escape | Funding Strategy | 🧠Psych PhD | 🌸Life After Academia | Samba/Salsa💃🏽🇵🇷 | Capoeira🤸♀️
I'm thrilled to visit the University of Reading tomorrow for an International Women's Day event, where I'll deliver two sessions for early career researchers, lecturers, and professors. We'll discuss potential options outside academia and how to prioritize yourself, whether you're staying in or leaving academia. 👊 I'm going ahead and tackling the BS around resilience and imposter syndrome! We'll examine the narrow context of various "excellence" metrics, how they neglect many people who are seen as misfits, create a competitive culture, and fail to measure excellence more widely. We'll talk about why women leave academia, especially during mid-career stages. The toxicity of academia often makes women feel stuck, unchallenged, and unable to grow. So what can they do? Don't worry; there's a way out We'll break down what success means to us! 💛 💪 And reframe failure as protection, a source of awareness of ourselves and the systems we find ourselves in, and consider how women are rocking the business world with their entrepreneurial spirit! We'll explore career options outside academia while connecting with all of our skills and knowledge - not just the knowledge gained in the ivory tower. Much of our education happens outside those walls! I'll then provide a skills workbook I created, encouraging empowerment and self-awareness. We'll consider how our skills, experiences, and approach to life can be leveraged for alt-ac careers. And lastly, how community can provide much-needed support! I'm excited to inspire this new community of academics and hopefully make them feel ready to take on the world!

Career Pivoting is projected to accelerate in the next 5-10 years, an outcome of the pandemic. "The Art of the Pivot" conversation is critical for you to define your obstacles and strengthen strategies that others have found successful. - According to McKinsey data, "the most pernicious challenge to parity in the workplace is the BROKEN RUNG—the gender disparity in the first step up from entry level to manager, where women immediately lose ground to men in career advancement." - As a female leader, what will you do to break through from entry level to manager . . . to cross the BROKEN RUNG and beyond?
Join the HBA Suburban Delaware Valley Chapter and Women in Science Affinity Group on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, for "The Art of the Pivot: Navigating Advancement in Science Careers." The panel, sponsored by Incyte, will feature trailblazing leaders in life sciences as they share their non-linear career journeys. Register today: bit.ly/4aPBUk7

Lawyer, Founder, Angel Investor | Harnessing change as a catalyst for sustainable impact and innovation.
"Who should apply". Over the past week, I've spoken to first-year Comp Sci students to early-stage founders to seasoned professionals, and like a cloud of doubt, the undertone of that question spans generations. I'm here to clear that. That role, that job, that application. Hit send and submit. From a young age, society instills in us the notion of the "good girl" archetype defined by sticking to the norms, the rules, and doing what's expected of us. This is a call-out to break the rules, actively pursue disruption and question the narratives you hold. #Founders, I'm in the process of reviewing applications for Spring's Women-Led Impact Investor Challenge, in which you'll gain invaluable insights on your due diligence materials, and pitch in a no-BS environment for an opportunity to receive $100k in funding. Deadline is tomorrow. Get your application in. #Investors, I'm leading a free, week-long course, where you’ll learn the foundations of investing and how you can evaluate potential investments with a gender-smart perspective that promotes inclusion, safety, equity and belonging. Deadline is March 4, or until the cohort's are full. Spaces are very limited, so apply now. I'm here to shatter outdated mindsets about women and money. So, "Yes, you should apply". #WomenFounders #ImpactInvesting #InnovationForGood #ClosingTheFundingGap #CapitalForChange #SustainableSolutions #BreakingBarriers [In partnership with the National Research Council Canada / Conseil national de recherches Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada and BDC]

#10 HR Most Influential Thinker 2024. HR Leader & AADCT Intuitive Psychology Coach. Founder of Peony & Magnolia, HR Consultancy. Our business is your People.
Honouring my capacity… … by doing things I love! ❤️ I just attended Wealthy Women Live and had the most amazing time, not just through meeting new women who were all inspiring in their own way, but by really giving myself permission to invest in me and P&M. Honestly, I’m still processing a lot of the thoughts I’ve had and one of the reasons I wanted to attend is because P&M is levelling up in the next few months and I want to spend time planning this next stage. So- what did I learn? 💡 2 days, lots of lightbulb moments and the best ideas didn’t come from a thought, but from a feeling. Throughout the 2 days I wrote down key words on a separate page when these came with a feeling. This is where the good stuff happened! 💥 Wealth is a word that comes with baggage. It isn’t about money, it is a whole lot more than that. For example, why did I job band a whole company to ‘prove’ I was underpaid?! Being the only female in a senior team, paid less is inequality. Just as a FYI- I definitely no longer under value myself! 😉 ✨ That the magic of bringing together women who are open to share, support and hold space for others is… well just bloody amazing! I’ve made some fantastic connections and dished out hugs when needed. I’ve diary dates already happening and it is so empowering just sitting in that energy. I’ve about a hundred new ideas BUT will spend time refining these over the next few weeks. A HUGE thank you to Catherine Morgan and her team, not just a lovely human but a really inspiring person to be around 😊 #wealthywomen #hrconsultancy #femalefounders #growthstrategy #femalefounders
