Let's celebrate some recent strides for society, in honour of International Women’s Day. Here are a few of our favourite wins for women from the last year ⬇️ 1️⃣ ⚽️ 2023 was the year money finally talked in women’s sport. Unprecedented pay raises for India’s women cricket players, record attendance at the Six Nations women’s rugby, women’s football overtook men’s in both merchandise sales and viewership in Australia, and more. 2️⃣ 🎬 ‘Barbie’ became the first billion-dollar movie directed solely by a woman. The film made $1 billion after just 17 days, making Greta Gerwig the first woman to have sole directing credit on a billion-dollar film. 3️⃣ ⚖️ India’s new law reserves a third of seats for women legislators. The Women’s Reservation Bill aims to enable the participation of women policymakers at the state and national levels in India by dedicating 33% of seats to women. 4️⃣ ❤️🩹 Spain approved its paid menstrual leave law — a first for Europe. This is part of a broader law, which aims to improve public access to abortion and includes the free provision of menstrual products in schools and prisons. 5️⃣ 🏥 The DRC launched free maternity care nationwide. The $113 million scheme offers free healthcare for women during pregnancy and for one month after childbirth to combat critical maternal and neonatal mortality rates. 📢Denmark men’s football team has made headlines by refusing a pay rise to ensure equal pay with the women’s team. This underscores the ongoing need for gender pay parity in sports. The recent discussion by Meritas Law Firms Worldwide Sports Law Group shed light on the persistent gender pay gap across all sports despite the significant growth in women’s sports. The women’s bogs. Locked to keep the men out because the men’s bogs are abused in a strange dirty protest, even though all men on site need to use those toilets. What the? Have the key holders missed that women have menstrual cycles to manage, and untrackable perimenopausal bleeding. Women can have urinary and bowel urgency or incontinence because they didn’t receive the support they needed post birth and entering menopause. Easy fix - Unlocked, clean washroom facilities with soap, hot water, toilet paper, hand santiser, period products, a period product disposable box, a sink in the cubicle and the room empty of all things bar the usual washroom infrastructure. BTW - can’t wait to see all the “you should see the men’s” from people who just. Don’t. Get. It. Sport teaches us character. It shows us the importance of playing by the rules and helps us experience the highs of winning and the lessons from losing. Through sport, we learn about life, teamwork, resilience, and so much more. It helps young kids build their confidence, gives them a sense of belonging, and teaches them responsibility. Everyone should be able to access sport, and kids of all abilities and disabilities should be encouraged to try different sports. Sport should be an inclusive platform where everyone can grow, learn, and thrive, based solely on talent, nothing more, nothing less. We’ve made significant progress in terms of inclusivity, yet it often feels like we are not evolving fast enough.

🌟 From Football to Fairness: Celebrating Women's Strength! 🌟 As the excitement of the world cup settles, I'll admit football wasn't always my thing – until the England ladies owned the Euro's last year. Now I'm a proud fan! Growing up, there was this notion that football was a "boys' thing," which unfortunately kept me from exploring the sport. But times are changing, and it's for incredible women like those on the England ladies' team that are reshaping our world. I couldn't be prouder to be a woman today. Yet, the pay gap between them and the men's team is staggering. Leah Williamson: £200,000 a year…Harry Kane: £415,000 per week! This got me thinking about broader differences, like women in care: 🌼 Did you know?🌼 • 3.34 million UK women are unpaid carers, often leaving work to support loved ones. • Women contribute 12.5 billion hours of unpaid care daily, ensuring better lives for many. • Despite dominating 80% of care jobs, women in health earn 24% less than men. Let's applaud women in care and remember, the fight for fairness continues. When it comes to creating respectful & inclusive workplaces, a lot of our coaching is focused on empowering leaders to identify and introduce systemic controls to improve gender equality outcomes. It works, because more equitable processes lead to more equitable outcomes. It also makes it much easier to engage everyone - because gender equality isn't just a women's issue. This initiative by Victorian Government is a great example of a systemic control designed to drive #fairness & #equity in sport.
