AI has profoundly impacted my work as a Senior Data Scientist, particularly in the realm of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Statistical Modeling. At Fitch Ratings, a global leader in financial information services, where I am part of the Emerging Technology group, AI enables us to extract meaningful insights from vast amounts of financial data, enhancing our ability to make deliver smart, efficient and innovative solutions for both our internal and external clients. As an avid NLP researcher, I leverage state-of-the-art open-source models to develop business critical products that not only delivers value in terms of ROI, but also make people's life easier in extracting value quicker from these AI products. Moreover, AI has played a pivotal role in my advocacy efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the tech industry. 2. How do you use AI in your daily life? In my daily life as a Senior Data Scientist - Manager, Emerging Technology, AI is the center of it all. It serves as an indispensable tool that empowers me to build solutions using Generative AI toolkits like Langchain, LlamaIndex to build powerful products. Emerging Technology group is at the forefront of all cutting edge technological innovation and leverages state-of-the-art AI techniques to build products and solutions for our customers. 3. What is your favorite AI tool right now? It has got to be GitHub CoPilot. Helps me focus on building actual complex logic rather than worrying about syntax errors. 4. What advice do you have for someone who is just getting started with AI? Observe the playing field, but don't be intimidated by the vastness of it. Learn and chose a path of your speciality and work towards it. Iterate fast and learn when to stop, when a project/solution is no longer viable or would add any value. Be BFF's with data. There is no AI without data. 5. Who should we follow in the AI space? Being a Mentor: Experienced women leaders in AI can guide and advise those starting their careers or transitioning into AI roles.
