You may not think this day has anything to do with business, but IT DOES! Girls (and boys) who start and continue to participate and enjoy sports past the pre-teen years (when many girls drop off for a variety of reasons), develop into leaders in our communities. They tend to be organized, emphathetic, team players, problem solvers, community minded, goal setters....you get my point. PWHL you said it well below and we have proof of the impact you are having on many businesses across #Canada. You go girls! #womeninsport #womeninbusiness #womeninmedicine #womenchangemakers #womenentrepreneurs

Today marks International Women's Day. 💗 A day where we celebrate women's achievements. At Fly, we are passionate about providing women with a safe space, where their dreams and ambitions are closer than they once believed. We are not just a brand; we're a community where female fighters are seen, heard, and respected. We're committed to making the world of combat sports a welcoming and empowering space for all women. Women's sports have come a long way over the years. Evolving from being insignificant and overlooked to becoming a thriving industry with many role models and influential athletes being ‘household names’. There is still more we can do in helping to reshape the social attitudes towards gender inequality in sports. Challenges for women in the industry are still rife. In recent years we have seen more headlines around the topic of “The first women to..”. However female athletes continue to demonstrate strength, resilience and determination, helping to inspire the next generation. Here's to us 💗
This International Women's Day, we celebrate the female fighters; the strength, courage, and resilience of women in sports. Female athletes continue to inspire the next generation and for that we thank them! Fly is not just a brand; we're a community where everyone is seen, heard, and respected. We're committed to making the world of combat sports a welcoming and empowering space for all. Happy International Women's Day.

Did you know that yesterday, 7th February, was National Girls and Women in Sports Day? I didn’t! N.G.W.S.D. came about in 1987 in remembrance of the Olympic Volleyball Player, Flo Hyman, recognising her as the most iconic female volleyball player of her time, and her incredible work in promoting equality of women in sports. The mission is to break all gender stereotypes that are built within the sports industry, inspire and celebrate women athletes – and inevitably keep supporting the fact that women belong in every aspect of sports! The Women’s Sports Foundation based in New York celebrates this movement annually by hosting several events around the US, where different organizations and foundations can get involved. They work with incredible athletes and partners in the industry such as ESPNW, Gatorade, Delta Air Lines and many more. They specialise in advocacy, research, awards, programs and resources in this sphere. So why is the National Girls and Women in Sports Day important? 🔸 It breaks gender stereotypes. A study showed that at least 75% of young girls have heard derogatory remarks about girls in sports. The N.G.W.S.D. reiterates the narrative that women belong in sports. 🔸 It inspires women to be active and encourages them to unlock their full potential. 🔸It honours the achievements of female athletes.
