I can’t begin to wrap my head around the magnitude. Employee payroll, birthdays, social security numbers, addresses, and all the same for anyone who financed/leased/purchased a vehicle at a dealership in which #cdk was used recently or previously, is directly impacted. Including many of you within my network. First time I've come across Ransomware as a Service. 🤯 Interesting article on the Ransomware attack on CDK global that is impacting car dealerships across the USA and Canada. Over 2 weeks for partial restoration of functionality. Dealers have access to a ton of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and also vehicle information, that is regularly used to support their marketing and sales pushes. I still get emails, texts, snail mail and phone calls from dealers based on my car purchase 12 years ago and having moved houses 3 times since. 😕 10 Million USD Ransom increased to 50 Million USD 💰 Dealers are having to do paperwork by hand. Expected impact to sales ~100 k less vehicles. 📉 Full extent of this breach is yet to be known and I'm curious to know more about the impact of telematics that is build into today's vehicles and this hack. #RaaS #ransomware #PII #dealers #automotivesales #cybersecurity
