For my team, the platform has allowed us to quickly summarize lengthy documents, draft first copies of emails and other written materials. And the more we use it, the better outputs we get. I just read something interesting about how tech firms like Accenture, TCS, Infosys, and Wipro are making billions by implementing generative AI for various companies. Every company wants to jump on the AI bandwagon to show they're up to speed. But many overlook a basic yet crucial tip: "NEVER hand over all your data to an external vendor!" Here are two reasons why: 1) If a vendor doesn't have access to all your data, they can't tailor their model to it perfectly. The untouched data then acts as a perfect benchmark to see if the AI model will generalize well for unseen data, which is what we want, or if the model has simply memorized the training data really well. 2) Always try simpler, cheaper methods for fine-tuning on your tasks like prompt engineering or LoRA-based PEFT on open-source LLMs. Compare the results of your simple experiments with what the vendor offers using your secret data stash.
