Had a sobering chat with a staff member recently. I realized that despite me working with external clients on coaching and development that I had neglected these principals with my own staff. I was focused on what I needed to achieve; from the business, from staff interactions, financially etc, and I had forgotten - just for a minute - to listen to what the staff needed and expected. Here are some lessons I (re) learnt just by actively listening #Activelistening #Coachingmindset #LeadershipMatters

Effective leadership understands that true productivity is not about pushing oneself and others to the brink of exhaustion but instead creating an environment that supports sustained high performance through an emphasis on balance and health. This often involves setting clear boundaries for work hours, encouraging breaks, respecting personal time, and promoting policies that support a well-rounded life. These practices not only enhance employee satisfaction and retention but also improve job performance across the organization. Gary Travis #garytravis #careers #culture #productivity #leadership
