Call for input to my Country Visit to Denmark and Greenland! I am interested in: Good practices in relation to the realization of the right and duty of international solidarity, including development cooperation, support for gender equality, and non-discrimination policies. Is solidarity taught within the school system? Challenges in the implementation of the right and duty of international solidarity (including expression of international solidarity), whether abroad, in the digital sphere, or within the country.  Are groups subject to surveillance, harassment, defunding, restriction, limitation, or penalization for their engagement in solidarity activities? Or does the state empower civil society engagement in solidarity actions and expressions? Scope of enjoyment of solidarity by and with women’s groups, youth groups/students, indigenous peoples, minorities, migrants, refugees and asylum-seekers, peace activists, LGBTQ activists, environmental/climate change activists, etc. Which mechanisms exist for civil society to present solidarity demands to state and non-state actors (such as corporations)? https://lnkd.in/dAFzP2Y2

🌈 International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia 🌈 CEMR stands united for a society that recognises and respects diverse identities. This year's theme, "No one left behind: equality, freedom, and justice for all," reaffirms our commitment to inclusion and equality in Europe. The #RainbowMap 2024 by ILGA-Europe annually ranks 49 European countries based on laws and policies impacting LGBTI people's human rights. Europe has only an average score of 42.06% in LGBTQI+ human rights legislation and policy developments. Local and Regional Governments play a crucial role in ensuring a safe environment and promoting acceptance and diversity. By implementing inclusive policies, fostering dialogue, and supporting #LGBTQI+ community initiatives, we can build environments where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. The queer community continues to face discrimination and violence, both within Europe and globally. On #WorldEnvironmentDay, we must acknowledge that climate change does not impact all people equally. Women and LGBTQ+ communities around the world are among the groups most disproportionately affected by the worsening climate crisis. The facts are sobering: 🔵Women and LGBTQ+ communities are often excluded from aid efforts after natural disasters strike. 🔵Women and LGBTQ+ communities are often the primary collectors of resources like water and fuel, making them most vulnerable to droughts and resource scarcity. 🔵Despite increasing demand to support frontline environmental justice work led by feminist and LGBTQ+ activists, funding remains scarce. Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activism is working to close this gap by resourcing grassroots feminist activists and movements addressing the gendered impacts of the climate crisis. This World Environment Day, we urge funders to step up support for the vital work of feminist and LGBTQ+ climate activists building a more sustainable world for all.

Sometimes it is a good reminder to reflecting on our journey since 2012, when the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights examined legal protections against sexual orientation discrimination in EU countries, including legislation on gender reassignment treatment. It's evident that our society has evolved. Yet, the struggle for protecting the fundamental rights of LGBTIQ people persists. Curious about the progress we've made? As we enter 2024, the landscape of support for the #LGBTQ+ community is encountering challenges. A recent report by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) Institute sheds light on a concerning trend: a decline in support for LGBTQ+ rights nationwide. Despite ongoing efforts, there's a palpable decrease in backing, especially within specific population segments. The statistics are telling: from a high of 72 percent supporting marriage equality in 2021, the figures have dwindled to 66 percent in 2023. This shift isn't just a statistical anomaly; it indicates broader societal changes and partisan influences affecting public opinion. Amid these challenges, businesses can play a pivotal role in fostering inclusivity and supporting the LGBTQ+ community.
