Join our networking Hackathon-style debate to shape and influence the future of our industry. Results will be presented at UKREiiF and one lucky participant will win a free ticket to the conference! The built environment industry is facing a major skills shortage. The workforce shortfall is projected to widen in the future with some estimates showing that over 150,000 new workers will be needed in the UK property sector within 5 years. Following on from our discussions on the UKREiiF EDI stage last year, we want to use YEP's platform to identify what the current barriers are to getting more people to join this incredible industry - what do the Next Generation want, what are the misconceptions, and what are the opportunities? This is what the Hackathon aims to find out! Hackathon participants will work in small groups to answer and problem solve, and then present a summary of findings. These findings will be presented on the main stage at UKREiiF in May. We are offering one lucky attendee the chance to win a FREE ticket to UKREiiF worth c£1,000, providing you with an opportunity to hear your ideas presented back to industry professionals on the Main Stage at the conference! All ticket proceeds will be donated to our charity partners. Thank you to Carter Jonas for hosting the event! For tickets and more information, follow the link below: https://lnkd.in/eqdshkAN

I pushed myself out of my comfort zone again. Some months ago, I attended the BCF Career event from Hyphen Projects in Belgium where I was fortunate to step into the TOPX booth and listen to a very inspiring session on career paths from a female perspective. So last week, there I was, in Utrecht, attending the Topx Network. Closing the gap in Life Sciences & Health 👩🔬was the focus of this year, because, yes, for those of you who don’t know, 131 years is how long we would need to close the gender gap at our current pace. It would be preferable to speed it up, don’t you think? Listening to all the keynote speakers with so many insightful facts backed up by data was a revelation for me. I also very much enjoyed those with more practical approaches such as impactful presence, patterns of communication, and the game of negotiation. So much learning, I was mind-blown. Not only that, but the initiative shown by the winners of the inclusive award was astonishing. Their speech was truly inspiring, and I can’t wait to put these learnings into action!💪🏻 I learned from other remarkable women, but most importantly I now have more knowledge to engage in discussions with colleagues on how to close the gap. Are you still considering joining the next TOPX event? Please do and engage in contributing to the discussion! 💬 #genderequality #inclusivity #diversity #networking #communication
