How I Passed My Security+ Certification Exam in About 3 Weeks 1- First, I bought and primarily used Mike Chapple and David Seidl’s study guide on Amazon. You can get it for about $45, and there's a 10% voucher that comes with it, so it works out to just paying $5, which is great. 2- The book is divided into 17 chapters. I read a chapter a day for the first 17 days and did the practice questions at the end of each chapter. 3- Then I did a revision read and made a lot of notes by asking Google's Gemini any questions I had. 4- I took practice exams on examcompass.com, as recommended by some Reddit posts. This got me a little worried because of the use of abbreviations in every question, which was very confusing. 5- I then used the online portal that comes with the book, which was great. There are about two full-length practice exams, each with 90 questions. I did them twice, and after the second try, I started feeling very confident. 6- Finally, on the eve of the exam, I watched about 5 PBQ (performance-based questions) videos on Cyberkraft’s YouTube channel. 7- An hour before the exam, I read my notes one final time. The exam lasts about 2 hours, but I completed it in 90 minutes. I wasn’t confident I had passed because I was unsure about the PBQs and a few other questions. But second-guessing yourself is normal sometimes, I guess. 8- Right after the exam, I filled out a very ill-timed survey and To my relief, I passed.

I’m happy to share that I’ve obtained the CompTIA Security+ Certification. Obtaining the CompTIA Security+ certification equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies. This certification provided a thorough exploration of critical security concepts, ranging from network and system security to risk management and cryptography. I learned to identify and mitigate security threats, implement effective security controls, and manage access to systems and data. I acquired the skills to secure networks, detect and respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. This certification not only validates my ability to safeguard information assets but also prepares them for a wide range of cybersecurity roles, underscoring their commitment to maintaining the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of data in today's rapidly evolving digital landscape.
