The decision to place someone in a nursing home is often a difficult one, and should be well researched and planned to avoid unnecessary trauma to the resident. The decision should be made in conjunction with the resident, their family, and their physician. #elderlaw #seniors #seniorcitizen #legalhelp #legalservice

An already very good and impactful stroke programme from The Gordon Center for Simulation and Innovation in Medical Education has now expanded to include primary caretakers working in nursing homes, home care, etc. This makes all the sense in the world, and I applaud Ivette Motola MD, MPH and the team at The Gordon Centre for this move. As with all time-critical emergencies, the earliest possible interventions are what may help save more lives and relieve some of the devastating outcomes a non-treated or late-treated stroke incident may cause. Bravo! May we see many more initiatives like this in the future, where we move the much-needed initial treatment as close as possible to where the incidents happen and where the patients live their lives. We really cannot and should not reserve this action-oriented competence within a hospital's walls. Clearly, it is a chain of helpers and lifesavers where all are equally important in the chain of survival. #helpingsavelives #StrokeMonth #gordoncenter #earlyinterventions #simulationsaveslives #chainofsurvival
The Gordon Center's stroke program has been expanded to include those healthcare professionals who are with the patient the moment a stroke happens, such as professionals in nursing homes. #gordoncenter #StrokeMonth #NationalStrokeAwarenessMonth #SimulationSavesLives
