Dwayne The Rock Johnson played 1/3 of all leading roles with "Asian and Pacific Islander" heritage between 2007 and 2019 (out of the 1,300 top-grossing films). Talking about representation in class the other day, some students once again noted that even when "non-majority" groups are centered in media, it almost always centers on a stereotypical or, in this case, uniquely unrelatable character. We love The Rock, but that dude has a singular experience. Inspirational? Sure. Relatable? I don't know. But instead of focusing on the problem, we can look at solutions. The solution in this case, as in with most cases of media and creativity, is to get more voices in the room. #representation #mediarepresentation #diversestorytelling #dei

4 more chances to witness this one!
Final week, final offer. THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE closes on Sunday at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in a Jobsite Theater production. Folks have been so kind to the work, this is one that is going to be talked about for a while. I appreciate the increasingly rare chances I get to perform, and believe firmly this among some of my best work.

Going to the theatre with my colleagues last week was incredible. During the performance, we had the opportunity to observe how the actors skillfully conveyed emotions, articulated their lines, and engaged with the audience. It was fascinating to see their stage presence and how they captured everyone's attention. One thing that really stood out to me was how theater performances are live events, which means unexpected situations can arise. Just like in our #ITprojects, where we often encounter unforeseen challenges, the actors in the theater had to adapt and handle these situations with grace and professionalism. Moreover, the #attentiontodetail in theater productions is simply remarkable. Every aspect, from the set design to the costumes, is meticulously crafted to create a seamless and immersive experience for the audience. It reminded me of the importance of paying attention to even the smallest details in our own projects to deliver a high-quality end result. Theater production truly showcases the power of #collaboration. It requires an extensive network of professionals, including actors, directors, set designers, costume designers, and more, working together to bring a production to life. Exploring diverse domains, like theater, offers lessons for personal and professional growth. What unexpected places have inspired you?
Yesterday we visited the theater. It was great and very interesting. Thank you my colleagues Elena Filon Olga Suhaka and Darya Zalatarova I was so happy to spend this time with you. 😍 Also, would like to thank Elinext and our event manager LIZAVETA KALENKA for instilling in us a love of theater ❤️

✨Radiant Leadership Mentor & Transformation Expert for heart - led powerhouses on a mission ✨Unlock the Sacred Feminine Success Codes to living your legacy at the full extent of your power, potential and purpose.
"Thank you for SEEING me" This - in a nutshell - is how we don't just survive, but THRIVE as we follow our path in life. Sometimes you need that one shining light - a mentor or guide by your side to really sponsor and SEE the unique SELF that you are becoming. I struggled with Visibility in my career and then my business for several years - in fact it led to me retraining entirely as a trauma informed transformational coach and hypnotherapist precisely for that reason! - and it's still one of the main triggers for why women decide to work with me now... I didn't understand how I - as someone with a lengthy background in marketing and acting (!) - could be confident and comfortable up on a stage or gesturing at a powerpoint presentation and still struggle to "put myself out there" when it came to starting my own business. I had to take a deep dive into healing all of the ways early developmental trauma (childhood abuse/ narcissistic abuse, emotional neglect, bullying etc) could lead to a deep Fear of BEING SEEN - and SEEN as my true, authentic self. And then understand how that upbringing had also created a myriad of layers to stop me SEEING myself! To SHOW yourself you must KNOW yourself - and some of us went into hiding a long time ago to keep SAFE. We also need caregivers to be our mirror and reflect back our unique, authentic essence- the little tender, essence of us that is growing. But not all of us received that attention. The impact is we land into adult life pretzelling ourselves for others approval, people pleasing to stop love or attention being withdrawn and overfunctioning to feel safe and in control. Most women I work with are high achieving, powerhouses succeeding in their corporate career or transitioning out into their own business - you wouldn't think on the outside they struggled with something like presenting themselves or their message... and yet.... It's what's going on in the inside that's a struggle. The creeping anxiety, or dread the night before an investor panel pitch or the boardroom meeting that regresses you to feeling like a little girl in the playground and not a powerful woman in charge of her own destiny...with no idea why... If this resonates with you I'm doing a short, deep (but very concise!!) talk on the three origin pillars of the Fear of Being Visible at the Fully Booked Fempreneur Festival at 14.20 tomorrow Wednesday March 13th 2024. You can book a FREE place here: www.cassiehicks.com/fff There's a whole host of amazing women speakers offering their gifts for free, and talking about everything from the energetics, mindset and strategy to running your own business.. Do join me or feel free to DM me to organise a virtual coffee chat over zoom and I would be happy to connect. www.radiantwomanchat.com
One of my favorite quotes is from Oscar Wilde who said, “Be yourself, because everyone else is already taken.” Last night Da’Vine Joy Randolph’s speech gave me goosebumps and embodied that message. She said, “For so long, I’ve always wanted to be different. And now I realize I just need to be myself and I thank you.” Congratulations on winning best supporting actress #Oscar for ‘The Holdovers’! A brilliant performance followed by the most brilliant and powerful acceptance speech of the entire evening! #AcademyAwards
